Oscar Fashion Ten Years Later
Meryl Streep
Not much about Meryl has changed from 2000 to 2010...and we mean that in the best way. The actress maintains her looks, perhaps even improving on her style and beauty routine over the years. This all-white look (from designer Chris March) suited the star.
Penelope Cruz
Penelope Cruz has always been stunning, but she's learned a lot about fashion in the past ten years. Though her 2000 Oscars dress was right on trend for the time period, Cruz clearly looks more regal, confident, and statuesque now in her Donna Karan.
Helen Mirren
Who knew Helen Mirren was such a party girl? She skipped the 2000 Oscars and headed straight to the popular Vanity Fair after party, to which she wore a white tank, green cardigan, and a plaid-print skirt. We definitely see a major improvement in her style since then -- Mirren looked the part of an Oscar winner at this year's show in her Badgley Mischka gown.
Charlize Theron
We loved Theron's amethyst colored Dior gown at this year's Oscars (though we could have done without the strategically-placed rosettes). And we have to say, her juicy orange low-cut dress from the 2000 red carpet isn't too shabby, either.
Cameron Diaz
In 2000, Diaz was an up-and-coming actress, with a fondness for sheer dresses and bleached eyebrows. Today, she takes a more classic approach to the red carpet in this stunning Oscar de la Renta dress.
Hillary Swank
She may have been a no-show at the 2010 Oscars, but Swank certainly made her presence known in this cut-to-there gown at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Back in 2000 (left) Swank kept things much more conservative, perhaps taking a dress cue from Oscar himself?
Queen Latifah
While the Queen looked perfectly polished in 2000, she's certainly become a lot more comfortable in gowns and girly getups. The rapper-turned-model (and actress) definitely knew how to work her Badgley Mischka Couture in 2010.
Salma Hayek
We thought Hayek's dress at the 2000 Oscars was a little too fairy princess for our liking (though still lovely). This year, Hayek skipped the Oscars and headed straight to the Vanity Fair after party in this wacky printed dress by late designer Alexander McQueen.
Julianne Moore
Time may have advanced by ten years since the 2000 Oscars, but we could swear Julianne Moore actually looks ten years younger. Her soft, face-framing hairstyle and flattering strapless Calvin Klein gown may have something to do with it.
Faith HIll
In 2000, Hill's look was pretty flashy. Has she toned it down ten years later? Not necessarily. This year, Hill chose a black Roberto Cavalli gown with lace inserts that showed a little skin.
