After all the drama behind Lindsay Lohan's short-lived tenure at Emanuel Ungaro, it's nice to see a celebrity do their fashion label justice.
Case in point: Nicole Richie, who reveals the inspiration behind her Winter Kate clothing line from its launch at London's Selfridges, in an exclusive interview with FASHIONAIR.
"I really try to make my clothes very easy and accessible to wear," Richie, clad in a fedora and floaty dress over black tights, says in a video interview with the site.
"I just want to have my clothes be something that people can just throw on."
Not surprisingly, the daughter of Lionel Richie was influenced by music for her collection of boho wear, though something tells us papa wasn't on her iPod.
"Music is a big inspiration to me... Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, The Animals, Fleetwood Mac," she says. "I just am really inspired by that era.
"I love the boldness of colors and prints. I thought it was really important to bring that back with this line."
And what of her own personal style? Richie says she dresses for comfort, and can't live without black tights, which she recommends pairing with summery dresses to make them work for winter.
The mother of two also highlights her collection's printed kimonos and solid camisole staples as some of her favorite pieces.
Now we just need some House of Harlow footwear to go with them!
