New From Annick Goutal: Lush, Green 'Ninfeo Mio'

In our fantasy life we live in an Annick Goutal fragrance.
We dream of ripe fruit and champagne (Quel Amour!), exotic, far-flung destinations (Musc Nomade) and fresh, dewy gardens (Neroli).
Our latest fantasy comes courtesy of the newest Annick Goutal fragrance Ninfeo Mio, which is named for the lush green gardens of Ninfa, near Rome, Italy.
Camille Goutal (daughter of Annick) and longtime Annick Goutal perfumer Isabelle Doyen originally created the scent to reflect the mythological garden of Hesperides, but as they were finishing up they visited the Ninfa gardens and were astounded to find it to be exactly the garden they had in mind while formulating the fragrance.
So what does a lush, Italian forest-garden smell like? Italian lemon, bitter orange tree, galbanum (a Persian plant resin that gives an earthy and green note), lavender, fig leaf, and a woody accord of lemon tree.
It's divine -- earthy, crisp, and distinctive.
The scent -- which launches at the end of April on saks.com -- comes in the iconic Annick Goutal bottles and the exquisite butterfly bottle you see here, which depicts the river Ninfeo running through the gardens.
It's going to have to tide us over until we can plan a trip to Ninfa -- time to make this fantasy a reality!
