Can One Item Replace Your Entire Anti-Aging Regimen? New Product Says Yes

Wouldn't it be great to have one skincare product that tackled all aspects of anti-aging -- wrinkles, tone, texture, spots, hydration, firmness -- so you didn't have to layer on a bunch of stuff every day?

Such an idea was previously deemed impossible. To cram all of the ingredients needed to target the multitude of aging issues into one product was considered risky -- the most potent anti-aging actives can react negatively and render each other ineffective.

If one scientist is up to the challenge it's Dr. Macrene Alexiades-Armenakes. She's not only a scientist with degrees in biology and genetics who actively researches new molecules and ingredients, but she's also a practicing dermatologist with a thriving practice in New York City.

Her new product, 37 Extreme Actives, is a lightweight cream that she claims takes the place of anti-aging day cream, night cream, serum and even eye cream.

At a small editor luncheon, Dr. Alexiades-Armenakes explained the arduous process she went through to get all of the best, proven anti-aging ingredients into one product, which involved using a highly advanced cream technology that suspends each active ingredient and delivers them directly into the skin.

"The formulation process was extraordinarily difficult," she said. "But now we have a product that has all the proven actives."

Actives like resveratrol for cellular repair, anti-oxidants such as ferulic acid and coffee seed extract, and peptides for collagen boosting all work together to prevent and actually reverse skin aging.

Dr. Alexiades-Armenakes conducted multiple objective, quantitative study trials using computer analysis to prove that her product delivered a reduction in wrinkles, redness and brown spots and concluded that "I can be sure that the pre- and post- are significantly different."

The one product it doesn't replace is sunscreen, which Dr. Alexiades-Armenakes says is still non-negotiable in the morning. She uses a lightweight physical blocker like Glycolix Elite Sunscreen SPF 30 over her cream before leaving the house.

37 Extreme Actives is priced at $275, which might seem like a lot until you realize how many other products you don't have to buy anymore. It's currently available at drmacrene.com and will be available at Neiman Marcus this May.

Towards the end of lunch Dr. Alexiades-Armenakes, who tends to shy away from recommending aggressive treatments and skin-peeling acids, especially on young people, said that to look truly youthful, "I think the health of the skin trumps everything. I believe you're better off feeding your cells everything that they need."

Younger skin and less time layering on products in the morning?

Sounds like a dream come true.

Speaking of which, learn how to look better in photographs.

Karima, I had a similar issue with brown lesions getting worse from laser treatments, spot creams, etc. I went to a reputable dermatologist and he told me that they were not sun spots nor age spots, but something called DSAP lesions, short for Disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis (DSAP). They are inherited and there isn't anything that takes them away. Staying out of the sun will prevent more so I'm told, but that's why the laser, creams, etc. that treat sun or age spots don't work on them. Google DSAP lesion and you will see pics of them that you can compare to. Perhaps you have DSAP lesions too and not sun spots or age spots. Good luck...Kim

There is no such thing as only one anti-aging product. Where is the science. Where are all the proofs and trials? Just another product to make someone rich. If it is truly that good, it should be priced so that the whole world could afford it. then she would really make a lot of money.
