Have you ever ripped out a celeb's pic from a magazine and brought it to your stylist in excited anticipation for that cut, only to end up looking nothing like it?

Ulta has plans to change that.

We recently stepped into an airy and sunlit loft in NYC's trendy Meatpacking District as a tall Cameron Diaz-like model vogued in a hot pink backless mini dress. The occasion? An exclusive sneak peak at Ulta's photo shoot for their Spring/Summer 2010 hair cut campaign, inspired by sexy and modern celebrity hair cuts.

Starting at May in Ulta stores nationwide, you'll be able to choose from one of three celeb-inspired haircuts, which will be comprised of soft and edgier takes on Charlize Theron's, Rhianna's and Hilary Swank's looks.

So how do you choose which famous mane would work best for you?

"Identify what makes you feel good, and go for that kind of cut. I'm not forcing fashion on women here. It's all about being inspired by a style, and then customizing it so that it works for your look and lifestyle," says Celebrity Stylist Rodney Cutler, who is designing the collection of styles.

Between now and May, Ulta is intensively training stylists on the cuts, which is about a nine week process – and includes lots of hands-on training. The goal is to make sure every Ulta in the country consistently cuts the same looks, yet are able to adapt to different kinds of client face shapes and requests.

"Modern inspirational trends are the core of Ulta, but we want to create wearable versions for our clients that make them feel absolutely beautiful in them," says Tracy Guthrie, Manager of Ulta's Salon Technical Training.

"We're also going to have a new glazing technique to enhance the cuts, which leaves hair so smooth and shiny. There are no chemicals, ammonia or peroxide in the glaze, which is why hair looks so much healthier afterwards," adds Guthrie.

Despite the high-end looks and extensive stylist training, Ulta manages to keep affordable pricing; as an example, the super popular Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy by Coppola that often tops $375+ dollars in other salons is currently being offered at a special price of $185 across the country. The hair straightening treatment is Peter Coppola's formaldehyde-free version, which lasts about 3 months and cuts up to 95% of frizz from hair.

Cuts typically start in the $30's and color in the $50's. A Saturday hot date night shampoo and blowout will cost you about $35.

And a great added convenience – every Ulta in the country is open 7 days a week.

Clearly, they know that women like options.

Speaking of options, check out all the fun things you can do with thick hair.
