After directing (and starring in) his first short last fall, Louboutin is back as leading man in an exclusive FASHIONAIR film, premiering online today.
The video, dubbed "Dancer in a Daydream," opens with a look inside Louboutin's drool-inducing Paris shoe atelier, where we find the cobbler contemplating a new design.
Inspired by the skylines of New York City, Paris and London, Christian Louboutin sketches a bejeweled jazz shoe and daydreams that he is wearing the sparkly red-soled wonders while doing some Fred Astaire-style soft-shoe between two female dancers (clad in heavily sequined panties and matching glittery Louboutin heels).
Check out the below clip.
The idea for the video came from Sojin Lee, FASHIONAIR co-founder and Louboutin friend. After thinking about who could play such a vibrant and theatrical character, she tapped the famed designer for the project, although he'd never had any formal dance experience, opting for circus trapeze training (which he started over 15 years ago), instead.
So, did the designer pull it off (like he does everything else)? Head over to FASHIONAIR.com -- where you'll also find a video of Rachel Roy showing off her posh NYC pad -- to watch the film in its entirety and judge for yourself.
And once you've wet your appetite for Louboutin's creations, you can enter to win a pair of his signature scarlet-soled heels by becoming a fan of FASHIONAIR on Facebook. The winner will be announced on FASHIONAIR's weekly news show "The Chic Fix," on April 9.
You can also snag a pair of Louboutins on the (relatively) cheap with this week's sale on theOutnet.com.
We think either method is something to dance about.
