Forever 21 is planning its first ever designer collaboration, WWD reports.
But rather than go the established designer route -- no Rodarte, Jean Paul Gaultier or Sonia Rykiel here -- the California-based company is going young and local by tapping Los Angeles designer Brian Lichtenberg.
Known best for his series of holographic tights worn by fashionably daring celebs including M.I.A., Santogold and Beyoncé, Lichtenberg is bringing his brand of Silver Lake sci-fi meets rock star performance wear to a line of graphic T-shirts which will be sold exclusively at Forever 21.
No specific launch date has been set, but according to WWD, a formal announcement will be released in the coming months.
For now, Target seems to be on top of the high-low game: The retailer has caused a shopping frenzy with its Liberty of London collaboration.
