Case in point: the upcoming collaboration between shoe maestro Manolo Blahnik and Liberty of London for Fall/Winter 2010, which will include a limited-edition collection of shoes, prints, holiday items and more.
In addition to a line of shoes in the London department store's signature prints, Blahnik will design a new set of Liberty prints as well as specialty items like candles, scarves, Christmas tree decorations, cushions, shoehorns and more, according to a press release.
The designer will also unveil a special "World of Manolo" that includes window displays and an exhibition of his work.
So mark your calendar -- it's all set to launch in September during Fashion's Night Out.
"We're thrilled to be working with Manolo," Ed Burstell, buying director for Liberty, told StyleList. "He doesn't sell in the UK anywhere beyond his own shops, so I'm predicting a frenzy on Regent Street.
"He's a tsunami of talent -- he has ideas every second -- and he's letting us into that world. We are excited to see how great that combination can be. He's guest curating Liberty for holiday and will work with us on window displays, interiors, Christmas cards, holiday wrap -- it's going to be big.
"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and like I said, I expect a frenzy on Regent Street. We're launching it in September at Fashion's Night Out and will have exclusive shoes in Liberty print fabrics. This is going to be groundbreaking."
