"We've continued with the classics of Ann Taylor, but have updated it to make it more modern and elegant," Ann Taylor style director Kristin Rawson told StyleList. "We're stylizing our current customer and are looking to attract new customers."
And for Ann Taylor's Fall 2010 Presentation, editors, buyers, socialites, and celebrities gathered inside of New York City's Ace Hotel for an intimate viewing of the collection which fused classic American glamour with European flair. To round out the ladylike styles, the beauty team perfected a look that was pretty, yet not overdone.
Cutler created a textured, finished ponytail by backcombing at the crown and leaving out a few wispy hairs around the face. "I wanted to make it look like a girl could have done it herself," he said. "And it works with the clothes because it gives it a fresh, played down look."
McCulloch painted up the models' faces in a Parisian fashion with a wine-stained lip and defined brows. The key to this statement-making pout was smoothing on Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Rouge Noir with a brush.
Bernadette Thompson manicurists added the finishing touches with groomed nails polished in a custom muted gray lacquer created from mixing lavender, blue, and cream shades.

GET THE LOOK - HAIR: Prep hair by spritzing on Cutler Volumizing Spray and then curling to create texture. Backcomb at the crown and pull back strands into a semi-tight ponytail. Pull out a few face-framing pieces for an undone appeal. Finish with Redken Workforce 09 Flexible Volumizing Spray to hold.
GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: Create a smooth and even complexion with minimal foundation or powder. Arch brows and fill in for definition. Line lids with black eyeliner and dust on a gray eyeshadow. Curl lashes and layer on lots of black mascara. Brighten up cheeks with MAC Blushcreme in Lilicent. And apply Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Rouge Noir lipstick.
GET THE LOOK - NAILS: For a similar nail look, paint your digits with two to three coats of a gray polish.
