Flintstones Wedding Has Bride and Groom Saying 'I Yabba Dabba Do'

It's a nice day for a... Flintstones wedding?!

British couple Ed Robinson and Gayle Watson went the Stone Age route for their nuptials, saying "I yabba dabba do" (literally) dressed as Fred and Wilma Flintstone, the Daily Mail reports.

While Robinson Bedrocked a black wig and orange leopard print toga, Watson walked down the aisle in a white and animal print one-shouldered dress and orange wig paired with a supersized "stone" choker, according to the paper. (How very Jeremy Scott of them.)

The dino-mite ceremony, held in Combe Martin, North Devon, England, also reportedly included a Barney Rubble best man, a Betty Rubble maid of honor, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm child attendants and caveman-costumed guests, a Flintstones-style car (which we hope, staying true to character, they drove with their feet), and an inflatable giraffe as a Dino the dinosaur stand-in.

Probably by signing a stone tablet, the couple made it legal as "The Flintstones" theme song reportedly played.

"The Flintstones idea made sense because we both love fancy dress [costumes] and where we live in Combe Martin the scenery looks very prehistoric," the new Mrs. Robinson told the paper,

We wonder if the guests had a choice of chicken or brontosaurus burger.

Let's just hope she got a giant rock out of the whole thing... and we don't mean the kind that you find on the ground.

Meanwhile, check out Kelly Osbourne's Flintstones-inspired dress.

They don't look anything like Fred & Wilma. I mean, if I'm going to do a themed wedding, and that theme is The Flintstones, I'm going to have my make up done to make me look like Wilma and buy a more... realistic wig. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're going to do it for your Big Day, damn, at least do it right.

You know angiebaby...I agree. I am wondering if these two fools are old enough and mature enough to be married at all. Please God do not let them have any children any time soon.

It's their wedding. They wanted to have fun -- and it looked like they did.

What's wrong with that?

It put a smile on my face.

One thing I can't understand.. Its their wedding and special day. Why do ppl feel the need to critize. I wish them all the best and hope they have lots of Pebbles and BamBams!

Seems like a bunch of mom's and dads never taught their children not to say something about someone unless it was something good. The good thing I can say about the people reacting negatively about this couple's wedding is that I positively don't know any of you.
Would I have gotten married that way? Probably not. But it doesn't mean I can't laugh with them at how they chose to do it.

It looks and sounds like they really had fun with this. I wish them all the best. Theme weddings can be very fun. I attended a Gundam Wing wedding a few years back that was just awesome.

As for the person who said they didn't do it right-- how do you know what kind of budget they had to work with? It's the thought that counts.

I got a good chuckle out of this. More power to them. I hope they do have children. It sounds like these are 2 people who are very compatble, have a great sense of humor and a zest for life. What a happy home for children.

And I'll bet their guests had a "rocking" good time. No criticism of people who plan elegant weddings, but I'll bet this was more fun and the couple saved their money for setting up housekeeping rather than blowing it on a fancy wedding. When I attend a fancy wedding I always wonder where they get that kind of money and if it is really money well-spent. I grew up at a time and place where the typical wedding was a simple church ceremony followed by cake and punch at a simple reception. It honored the occasion without breaking the bank.

I won't judge them or their outfits. It's not really up to me. However, I would like to see a scientific study done on the viability of non-traditional weddings as compared to a control group of traditional weddings. If it comes out that non-traditional weddings tend to result in longer marrriages, I would be all for it. However, if it turns out that it is detrimental to marital longevity, then I'd be absolutely against it. Oh, one caveat, I am certainly not advocating spending even one of my tax dollars on the study! Lol.
