While it might rank way below the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in fashion-awards importance, The Undies are far more democratic.
Panty fans across the globe can participate in the voting on TheUndies.com, where women first identify their body type through a series of questions, then vote for their favorite brand and style of bra (broken down into T-shirt style, sports bras, strapless, seamless, push-ups, and minimizers) and underwear (divided into briefs, bikinis, thongs, boy shorts, and G-strings).
Men can also log on to the anonymous survey and vote for their favorites in the male categories (and we suppose female categories), too.
So, who has walked away with an Undie in the past? In 2009, after 20,000 votes, the overall favorite bra was Vanity Fair's Body Sleek Contour Stretch Bra (for average-size ladies), while the Panache Superbra Tango II was deemed the best by fuller-figured women.
The Olga Secret Hug Nylon Scoop Panty won for best overall undie, while Spanx's ever popular Higher Power High-Waisted Mid-Thigh Shaper won for best shapewear.
To see which other brands faired well (including Fantasie, Natori, Hanky Panky, Bali, and La Perla -- surprisingly, no Victoria's Secret!) and to help elect the 2010 winners, head over to TheUndies.com this month and come back in May, when the winners will be announced.
