Nicole by OPI Launches Exclusive Nail Lacquers for Walmart

If you've noticed some bright new polish shades on the shelves at Walmart lately, here's why.

OPI -- one of the two brands of polish that every nail salon carries -- recently launched an exclusive version of its little sister brand, Nicole by OPI, in Walmart. Called Nicole ♥ Walmart Nail Lacquers, the range kicked off with 14 seasonal shades at only $7.99 a pop.

"We are so excited making these new Nicole Nail Lacquers available exclusively to Walmart customers," said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director in a statement. "With all these shades to choose from, every woman can find the colors that express her own style!"

Like all of OPI's formulas, Nicole ♥ Walmart is free of DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde.

The shades range from lavender shimmer to trendy turquoise, but our favorites are above. Hint of Mint (which looks a lot like our last fall obsession, Chanel Jade), Daisy's Lazy (the perfect shade of tomato red for spring pedis) and Di-Vine is Divine (a shimmery grape that's our big-night-out pick).

This news is very late! I've been using these exotic colors from Nicole for months, and have even taken them with me to my manicurist to have them applied professionally. They just appeared on the shelf at Wal Mart in the Sally Hanson section and I fell in love with them. I think I own every color they offer.

Isn't a bargain? It is a very good bargain for a very good product. But, if you are used to buying yours at the Dollar Store, well then, I guess 7.99 isn't a bargain! You get what you pay for, you buy cheap, you look cheap!

I have my nails painted at the salon so I never spend money on nail polish. And %7.99 for a polish at WalMart is NOT a good deal. Five bucks would be a bargain!

7.99 is roughly what a bottle of O.P.I costs at ULTA or at a salon. So,...what's my incentive to buy this?

New line at Walmart? Now how new is this suppose to be? I'm an o/n receiving/stocker associate and I have been putting that line of nail polish on the shelves for some time now. And for those that want to post I hate Walmart comments...'Have a nice day, see you tomorrow' We are a $400+ billion dollar corporation because we know what we are doing. If anyone of you thinks you can do it better, then get froggy and jump or just SHUT UP!

I have been a Hair Stylist for over 25 years and this brand has been around for at least 15 of those years. There is nothing exclusive about it and that is very expensive for a Walmart nail polish!

I'm a Cosmetology Instructor and we try to teach our students the difference between Professional Products and over-the-counter products, like shampoos, hair sprays, and especially hair color... I was very disappointed when professional lines started appearing in discount retail stores, it really takes the "Professional" out of the product.
We have a professional licensure for a reason, and professional lines have a responsibility to keep it that way, so shame on OPI, Paul Mitchell, Bed Head, etc that have allowed their products to be marketed this way. The almighty dollar wins again.
And I LOVE Walmart - shop there alot, but not for professional beauty products...
