To coincide with the 40th anniversary of Earth Day (April 22), Christie's is launching a series of auctions benefiting eco-friendly charities and featuring some of the biggest names in fashion.

Just launched and running through May 6, The Green Auction: A Bid to Save the Earth is hosted by Charitybuzz and has over 200 lots, including experiences and products donated by Stella McCartney, Vera Wang, Nina Ricci, Gucci, Proenza Schouler, and more.

Longtime Earth lover (and staunch vegan) McCartney is offering his-and-her bespoke suits -- including personal fittings by the designer herself -- made out of sustainable fabric (naturally), at an estimated value of $30,000.

Wang, on the other hand, is donating a $10,000 gift card for her New York flagship, plus dinner with her at the posh Mercer Kitchen just around the corner from her shop. Missoni is giving the highest bidder two front row tickets to its show.

One lucky gal will also get to have her own Lady Gaga red-carpet moment (Saturn-like bands optional) if she can shell out enough to win a Giorgio Armani gown and tickets to the famed Vanity Fair Oscar after-party following next year's star-studded ceremony.

All money raised will benefit Earth-friendly nonprofits Oceana, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Central Park Conservancy, and Conservation International.

And if you don't have enough funds to compete for one of the aforementioned prizes, you can also help the cause by making donations in whatever amount you can afford.

Which lot whets your appetite? Let us know in a comment.
