Melissa, CFDA to Collaborate on Shoes

Hear that? It's the sound of our shoe-obsessed heart skipping a beat.
Why? Because environmentally conscious Brazilian footwear label Melissa has joined the Council of Fashion Designers of America's Business Network, Vogue UK reports.
The partnership means that the brand -- which has teamed up with European designers including Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier -- will be getting a USA twist courtesy of anticipated collaborations with American CFDA designers, according to the fashion site.
"Melissa has mostly collaborated with international designers and artists," CFDA executive director Steven Kolb told WWD. "They have been really amazing, but we think adding an American voice with CFDA now involved will push Melissa to new creative heights."
Yankee Doodle dandy!
So which CFDA designer will Melissa -- which counts Carey Mulligan among its celebrity fans -- woo first? Dare we dream of an edgy, knit-based Rodarte heel, a faux snakeskin Devi Kroell slingback or a cool black Alexander Wang bootie for the downtown NYC set?
We sure hope so!
Meanwhile, get more info on Melissa's collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier (pictured above).
