Nars Cosmetics will be fostering immaculate complexions come May, with the introduction of their new Pro Prime line, which is designed to smooth skin, fill in fine lines, keep makeup in place, and give the skin a jump start on perfection prior to makeup application.

The line is fronted by Marcel, brand-creator Francois Nars' wrinkly-faced French bull dog. A big presence in the makeup maestro's life, Marcel leads a more whirlwind social life than most A-List celebrities, regularly hobnobbing with the likes of Marc Jacobs and Daphne Guinness at cocktail parties, and jetting with Nars to and from his private island in the South Pacific.

So it's only fitting that this pretty pooch can now add "cover model" to his resume.

Accompanied by the quote "More than a Pretty Face," Marcel stares from Pro Prime's campaign photograph (above left), wearing only a furry collar and his golden name tag, and reminding us that, like him, we can have imperfections but still look cute. Nars plans to release more photos of Marcel in the coming weeks, along with tips on keeping your makeup long lasting, on their Facebook page (become a fan here).

Pro Prime is launching on May 1st at Sephora with two products, Skin Smoothing Face Prep and Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.

Face Prep is not a typical primer -- in fact, it had many different uses. The company suggests smoothing it on before your normal primer to mattify the skin, or pat it on top of makeup to instantly stymie shine. You can also apply it to fine lines, large pores and rough spots for an instant smoothing effect. The fragrance-free, non-comedogenic formula is infused with film-former and anti-caking agents that create a temporary barrier on the skin and ensure instant smoothness.

Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base helps prevent smudging, creasing and caking of powder and -- bonus -- cream eye shadow formulas. It uses a combination of polymers and mineral powder to create a firm grip on color pigments and help eye makeup stay put, and it dries on contact while nourishing the delicate eye lid -- a boon for us, as we too often experience irritation after trying typical eye shadow bases.

The formula was previewed by Rihanna at the Kids' Choice Awards and Maggie Gyllenhaal just last night at the Metropolitan Opera Gala Premiere, and needless to say, their makeup looked impeccable all night -- not one Marcel-like wrinkle in sight.

Dogs aren't the only thing this company gets cheeky with. Get the scoop on about Nars' universally adored -- but very naughtily named -- blush.
