The company is embarking on an ambitious remodeling program to make its stores lighter, brighter, and more inviting, with its dressing rooms becoming locations of envy.
In addition, the company is taking stock in what it values as its greatest asset: its customers.
"Our customer is a working mom, we know that," Donna Baccollo, the retailer's senior marketing manager, told StyleList. "She does not have a lot of time for herself and is budget conscious."
The remodeling and revising of store services is meant to make it much easier for this woman to shop at DressBarn.
"We do anything we can to enhance her experience -- we know what she likes, greet her by name, whatever we can do," Baccollo says. "She's a real person and we want to be affordable to her."
To celebrate the reopening of its Sixth Avenue location in New York City, DressBarn brought celebrity stylist Nicole Brewer into the store and invited some of its best customers to be styled by the pro.
Offerings at the newly renovated store at 46th Street in Midtown Manhattan were sharply priced, and there was rack after rack of dresses (of course), most costing $34.99.
Shirts were in the $26.99 range and one pencil skirt was a mere $29.99. Two-piece suits were priced at $139.99, and everything was available in petites, regular women's sizes, and plus sizes.
Brands included DressBarn's own label as well as Calvin Klein white label and Jones Studio from Jones New York, among others.
Meanwhile, check out another fashion company that just got a modern makeover.

Dress Barn is great for us 40 ish women :) but they need to get an online shopping site. It would be easier to order online. they are one of few who still do not offer online shopping.
