Estee Lauder Signs Models Constance Jablonski and Liu Wen

Estee Lauder is about to add some spice to its stable of girl-next-door-looking beauties..

The cosmetic giant just announced that it has signed two of fashion's leading runway models -- France's Constance Jablonski and China's Liu Wen -- which makes the duo the first models Estée Lauder has signed from either country. Cover faces for the beauty brand have traditionally hailed from the U.S., U.K. and Eastern European nations like Poland and the Czech Republic.

We wonder if new creative makeup director Tom Pecheux -- who is a fixture backstage during fashion week -- is encouraging Lauder to expand its presence in the world of high fashion?

"Estée Lauder has always searched for global beauties that define a generation. Constance and Liu Wen are the beauties of our time. Both models have quickly captured the attention of the fashion and beauty world," said Aerin Lauder, Senior Vice President and Creative Director of Estée Lauder.

Jablonski is originally from Lille, France, and walked the runways for a staggering 62 shows in New York, Milan and Paris during the Fall and Winter 2010 fashion season. The icy blonde is also a favorite of the editorial fashion world, with recent appearances on the cover of Chinese Vogue and in American, British, French and Italian issues of Vogue.

Meanwhile, Wen was born in Beijing, China, and started her career on the pages of Chinese Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. And her heels are well-worn from a season of runway prancing too; she worked a total of 49 shows for the Fall and Winter 2010 fashion season, which included names like Derek Lam -- which Estee Lauder sponsored -- along with Rodarte, Carolina Herrera, Balenciaga and Michael Kors.

Look for the fresh new faces to start making ad appearances in June. We just hope that by then, the girls have kicked off those heels and are finally putting their feet up.

Great to see these fresh faces -- they seem like strong, centered people and it's a treat to have an Asian beauty in the mix!

a name like "Jablonski" (which should probably be "Jablonskaya") isn't Polish at all... HAHA

oh well, at least Estee Lauder tried. gotta give them that. and they got the Asian factor into the mix, which is a surprising, but nice touch.

That's a stupid comment. "Jablonski" is a typical Polish last name. Do your homework, please. If it was Russian, it would be "Jablonskaya," but that is not her last name. Please inform yourself of the typical differences between Polish and Russian surnames before making an uninformed comment.

@ Hailey - I was being sarcastic.

The author of this article wrote, "Cover faces for the beauty brand have traditionally hailed from the U.S., U.K. and Eastern European nations like POLAND and the Czech Republic."

Jablonski is clearly a Polish name and yet the author ignored that by stating that it was the first time Estee Lauder signed anyone from France, implying Jablonski was an ethnic French girl. Estee Lauder picked a girl with a Polish background from France. It doesn't make Jablonski any less French, but her last name clearly dictates her roots. My comment was that Estee Lauder didn't do anything different because they picked the same type of person they normally would. Jablonski just happens to be from a different European country, which adds to their list of where they find their "faces."

Once again the writer of this story forgot that Estee Lauder signed
Liya Kebede to represent their company and she is from AFRICA! Why is it that in fashion, writers are quick to forget the participation of Black models in their industry? It is sad that Liya Kebede was under used by the company in the first place and now isn't recognized for the work she did and the money she made for Estee Lauder.

Lyia were an under used spokes model for Estee Lauder. She was hired at the time to cover up a discrimination class action law suit that was filed aganist them. The truth is they rarely hire African American women to represent their products. I don't doubt that the new face is going to be used to target the African American market to buy. They are testing the waters to draw in sells from the ethnic group. I dont think it's going to work. Most ethnic women are waking up to the fact that they don't see Black faces with the Estee Lauder co. They can put 2and2 together.

Ya know..there are plenty of AMERICAN girls that are beautiful. American companies should hire American women. You can bet your bottom dollar that France would NEVER hire and American for anything! Nor would any other European country. American companies should be ashamed of themselves for hiring foreigners! We need to keep our money in America! I will not purchase from Lauder again!

That's because (most) american women are fat pigs and don't have bodies like foreign women do - plain & simple..

It is nice to see an Asian model but Liya Kebede is stunning, imagine, showing brown, yellow and white skins; why not show all three new faces, that would look better for Estee Lauder (thanks for mentioning Liya Kebede David!).

Now maybe I'll spend my money on Estee Lauder products

Yes, beautiful faces selling beautiful products. A sleek fantasy. Behind that fantasy lies chemicals, like formaldehyde releasers, petroleum distillates, phthalates (mmmmm....smells so good!) and other lovely toxic substances in your favorite Estee Lauder product. Slather it on and wonder why you breakout, itch, have a reaction, etc.
