The new 9,000 square foot location opens today in Manhattan's Chelsea Market at Ninth Avenue and 15th Street and is full of items unique to this location.
"It's a big store, but I think it feels very intimate," co-president Wendy Wurtzburger told StyleList at a preview party Thursday evening. "We've done some things that feel different and personal here." She added, "We have some incredible one-of-a-kind dresses from Geminola and the Some Odd Rubies crew. We have some wonderful vintage jewelry that the buyers found in a Paris flea market from House of Woloch. We bought the whole collection, so we have about 20 pieces in this store."
The store itself is a bit of a work of art.
"We love that we're in the former Nabisco plant," co-president Wendy McDevitt told StyleList. "There is some incredible tile work that spells out National Biscuit Company downstairs. We have a reclaimed wood floor and other reclaimed elements. We really preserved the integrity of the space and worked within the space to preserve the architectural elements."
Many of its designers turned out to get a sneak peek at the store including Tracy Reese, Ruffian's Brian Wolk and Claude Morais and pottery designer Ashley Longshore. "Real Housewife" Kelly Bensimon was also seen doing some shopping.

Anthroplogie is a fantastic store. I visited the one in the Pear District of Portland. Being my first time, I had high expectations and wasn't let down. A vintage bird estuary in the middle of the floor. Purple Ostrich statues next to high end jeweled door knobs. There was items to choose through. Its like a Macy's for whimsical fashionista. I've never seen anything like that before. Its a perfect fit for the Chelsea Market.
