Why does everyone think that if you are over the age of 30, you must have dry skin?

Um, hello, I've got oily, acne-prone skin over here and I'm seeing fine lines crop up too.

With so many skin issues to tackle, my perpetual question is this: Do I buy skincare products that focus on my clogged pores and shiny T-zone, but risk drying out my skin, or do I opt for items that tackle my age spots and fine lines, and accept the inevitable breakouts that come with them.

Or should I just pull a Blanche DuBois and never show my skin in the light of day again?

Frankly, option #3 was sounding real good to me, until I tried Dr. Brandt's newest skincare creation.

The so-called Botox Baron has developed a new product called Pores No More Anti-Aging Mattifying Lotion. With ingredients like apple stem cells, stabilized retinol, humectants, alpine extract (which helps control oil production and prevent inflammation) and micronized powder (to absorb surface oil), by all accounts this lotion should transform your skin into a velvety, smooth canvas.

The star ingredient in this product are the apple stem cells, which have been a buzz word in the skincare world since their discovery in 2008. The apple skin stem cells in the formula are based on the stem cells of a rare, endangered Swiss apple, well-known for its longevity potential. And these stem cells help preserve our skin, just like they do the apple.

It all sounds very Adam and Eve, right?

But let me tell you, I'd definitely take a bite from the apple -- my skin looks good! Not completely transformed, but better than it did nine days ago. The retinol is helping to slough away dullness and keep my pores clear. The Alpine extract has been helping my nose stay pleasantly shine-free; it's certainly not glistening in the afternoon sun.

I can't say anything has dramatically changed wrinkle-wise, but I probably need to give the lotion at least a few more weeks before I can expect to see any serious transformations.

In the meantime, I will continue to slather this stuff on, in the A.M., always followed by my sunscreen du jour. Today it's Dermadoctor Ain't Misbehavin' Skin Clarifying & Mattifying Sunscreen SPF 30 PA+++.

And to help my eyes look as sparkling fresh as my skin, I'm following Jennifer Aniston's eye brightening makeup trick.

The website you linked to has a glaring typo - I am always suspicious of businesses with typos in their info.

This stuff is all hype anyway. Genes Vitamin E Creme does most of what they claim here and its very cost effective - finally a product that works in days, not months.!.

Why of course, it could only be derived from a "rare, endangered Swiss apple." What a crock!

Ahhhh....no thanks. I will stick with Barmon Skin care. Been using it for years and my skin is perfect. All these new products have chemicals in them.

One product that is inexpensive & works well to reduce shine & pores is Avon's Magix Face
Perfector & it only cost $10 (in fact it is on sale this month for $7.95). It is colorless & can be
used under makeup. By the way, I don't work for Avon - I just like a lot of their products and you can by them from someone local in your neighborhood - no hassles with internet sites, although you can get their products through the internet but then you have to pay S&H.

So the makers of this product are willing to harvest from "rare and endangered" plants so old looking women can think they're fooling people? That's unethical. I think I'll spread the word about boycotting this brand all together.

If this chic's skin looks so good where are the pics? AOL needs money and gets it from these paid ad's that try to masquarade as articles.

If this chic's skin looks so great where are the before and after pics? AOL must need money and gets it by selling ad space in the form of these rediculous "articles"
