Curious to see how stylish New Yorkers were dressing and practicing eco-friendly acts on Earth Day, we took a quick jaunt through the city's downtown neighborhoods yesterday for an impromptu polling. (Of course despite the intermittent bouts of April showers, we kept our carbon footprint low by traveling on foot!)

Women traversing the Tribeca and Soho sidewalks embraced the warm weather in springy ensembles such as light-weight sweaters, skinny jeans, wedge sandals, and cool shades.

Even though no one was wearing organic clothing, most were planning on commemorating Earth Day in their own unique way.
