She's already considered Hollywood royalty, now Katie Holmes is heading to Camelot to portray iconic first lady Jacqueline Kennedy in an upcoming miniseries.

"The Kennedys," airing on the History Channel in 2011, will explore the relationships between President John F. Kennedy (Greg Kinnear), his brother Robert (Barry Pepper) and their dad Joe (Tom Wilkinson), reports Variety. Holmes and Kinnear previously co-starred in 2000's "The Gift."

While critics may think that the 31-year-old former "Dawson's Creek" star might not have the chops to play such a beloved American icon, StyleList thinks shes the perfect choice: In recent years, Holmes's fashion sense has been strikingly similar to Kennedy's.

Just as Kennedy did with her bubble cut, Holmes started a hair trend when she lopped her long brown locks into a chic bob.

When it comes to wardrobe, classic is the keyword for both women. When not decked out in Armani dresses, Mrs. Tom Cruise has often been seen in a simple black turtleneck, jeans, and a camel overcoat -- not unlike the casual wear that Mrs. Kennedy, who donned Oleg Cassini's sumptuous geometric dresses for more elegant affairs -- favored following her reign in the White House.

But the similarities don't stop there.

Holmes who, like Kennedy, married a charismatic leading man (recall Cruise's couch jumping on Oprah) with whom she had an adorable daughter, often accessorizes her attire with oversize sunglasses and a Birkin bag.

So based on her style alone, Holmes is perfectly suited to take on the regal role of America's Queen.

Crown her with a pillbox hat!
