Living Proof No Frizz Restyling Spray - I Tried It!

I don't know about you, but washing and styling my hair every day is not possible. Between work, kids (two under the age of four) and maintaining a house, I barely have time to breathe.

I go days without washing my hair -- and it shows.

When I heard Living Proof -- the innovative hair brand fronted by scientists affiliated with top universities like M.I.T. -- was launching a restyling spray I jumped at the opportunity to try it.

Normally when I'm in a rush, I wet my bang area with water (it's the one spot that always seems to go awry while sleeping), zap it with the blow dryer and head for the door. The trouble is my hair feels sticky, looks stiff and is a static-y mess. And I just accept it.

Living Proof Restyling Spray is a lightweight, quick-drying spray that offers busy women the chance to reinvigorate and refresh their day(s)-old hair with ease. It contains humectants and moisturizing agents that condition and soften, as well as ingredients that detangle and provide static control. Just spray the hair until it's lightly damp, blow dry and style. Unlike water, it's supposed to work with your dirty hair, not against it.

So, did it get the job done?

I tried it the morning we were heading out the door for vacation. I was too busy to wash my hair the night before so I figured I would just do it in the morning. An alarm malfunction, two cranky kids and a luggage disaster later, there was no time.

Enter Living Proof. I sprayed the front and sides of my hair, and quickly blew them dry. The result: amazing. My hair was soft and manageable, and my color looked incredibly vibrant. My hair felt and looked clean. And there was no stiffness or static to be found. The only downfall, for me at least, was the smell. If you can get over that (the scent actually disappears once you restyle), it's an absolute must if you're in a rush.

When I arrived at our destination (we were visiting family down south), my sister said my hair looked great. Little did she know it had been four days since my last shampoo!

Speaking of not washing your hair, how long is too long to go without showering? The experts weight in.

Try OPI dry shampoo from Sephora - it smells amazing and makes your hair soft and clean! You can try a sample bottle for $10, or the larger bottle for $24. Make sure you shake it for a full minute or else the clay will clog!

How long does it take to wash your hair, lady? If you shower every day, and I hope you do, just lather up and wash your smelly hair. I could no more start my day without washing my hair than brushing my teeth..

I have dry damaged hair due to waves and coloring. I wait one day in between shampoos to build up oils. I could understand washing your hair everyday if you had thin oily hair but mine usually looks better the day after I wash it because the frizz from blowdrying it has been tamed by 8 hrs of "pillow therapy" (sleep). I take a shower every day though. Just because you don't wash your hair every day doesn't mean that you don't shower...and I couldn't imagine going 4 days without a shower...time to consider a babysitter if you can't even take care of yourself. I like using Morocaan Oil shampoo and conditioner ( I probably spelled Morocaan wrong though) it smells and works great. It even smells good the day after I wash it even when my boyfriend smokes around me (yuck) and I like Paul Mitchell's skinny smoothing serum too. Its glossy, moisturizes and cuts down blowdrying time too for all you busy (but hopefully not stinky) ladies!

I couldn't imagine going 4 days without a shower. That is pretty gross. You should shower everyday even if you wash your hair every other day. I have thick wavy hair that tends to be dryer due to coloring and blowdrying.

I really enjoy Moroccan Oil shampoo and conditioner. My hair smells just as good the second day even when I hang out with my boyfriend who smokes (yucky smelly habit I know).

Washing you hair everyday is so unnecessary for MOST people. Unless you're digging ditches or working in a coal mine (examples) your hair doesn't get that dirty in one day. Washing everyday is too hard on your hair. It dries it out, causes your color to fade faster etc. Going 2or3 days between shampoos allows time for some oil to get into the hair and give it some body and shine. Ask any stylist and they will tell you the same thing.

A well-known international stylist once commented on how beautiful my hair is and asked if I washed it daily. I said no, and he said "Good! You take out all the natural nutrients when you do that." He recommended once every three-four days, a week at the most, depending on how oily your hair is. I believe it, and my hair doesn't smell funky because I use a good shampoo and don't overspray or kill it with gels and heat rollers or curling irons. Take your choice - beautiful hair or washing daily so that your hair will dry out and get frizzy. Not my opinion, his. And it works!

I don't understand how this is supposed to be such a time saver. Shampooing your hair is the fastest part of the process, while bolw drying and styling can take up to 30 minutes or more depending on your hair. Where is the time saved when you have to spray your hair all over until it's damp and then blow dry and style it?

Well, for all you 'commenter's', you might want to open a book before you post silly responses. There is no need for most people to shower every day; in fact, washing off your skins naturally protective oils too often is ill-advised. Check your facts before you randomly respond - if you want to be taken seriously.

I've actually started skipping ONE day between hair washings. My hair is much, much healthier now than when it was when I washed my hair everyday.

Try new Victoria's Secret Style Sexy Clean & Dry Shampoo. It's a dry shampoo spray that smells fantastic! It does add some texture to the hair, but that's actually a bonus for me since my hair is really fine. This product is awesome!!

What a slob this woman is! Take a bath or shower in the middle of the night if you canot find time during the day. I have a very full plate with my family, and I wash daily and put on some make up too. I do this for myself, as well as for my appearance in general. It takes 30 minutes for me to get ready and look nice. This woman needs to invest in a time management course- not a quick-fix-it hair product!

She didnt say that she didnt take a bath daily. She only said that she didnt have time to wash her hair daily. She may have long hair that takes along time to wash and style and a bath can be in and out quickly..
