Living in Venice, California for three years, Alicia has adopted the city's comfortable, casual style. Hanging out with her friends wearing worn fleece and workout pants and no makeup, she looked a little too laid-back.

Enter the Mission Makeover team.

The plan for Alicia: take her out of her comfort zone and give her a look that's simple, yet sophisticated.



Makeup artist Roberta Inez started the transformation by smoothing on a tinted moisturizer to enhance and even Alicia's complexion. Before applying eye makeup, she reshaped Alicia's eyebrows with tweezers and scissors, trimming unruly hairs. She then used brow powder and an angle brush to add fullness and definition.
On the eyes, Inez swept a soft taupe shadow across the lids and into the creases. To add depth, she used a black eye liner and brushed on a few coats of black mascara -- combing through the lashes after every application for noticeable separation. Before applying mascara, Inez curled Alicia's lashes to create an eye-opening effect.


A touch of bronzer topped with a soft pink blush gave Alicia's cheeks a natural-looking glow, and frosted lip gloss rounded out the look.

Alicia's shoulder-length locks lacked style. To give her hair shape and movement, Inez added a few face-framing layers and a long bangs.

Stylist Jordan Feldman opted for a classic black dress paired with black tights and heels -- a look that works in the office or on the town.

The final result: simply chic.
