DESIGNER: Johnnie Boden

INSPIRATION: Classic English style with an uber-cool streak that shows itself through bits of color, bold prints and sparkle.

WHO WAS THERE: The preview at New York's trendy Ace Hotel was for editors only.

TOP LOOKS: Coats are this company's forte – a lightweight blown up leaf print trench and a military-inspired teal wool coat with velvet trim are some of the top ones.

ACCESSORIES: Waffle weave scarves and hats in a kaleidoscope of colors, "statement" crystal floral necklaces in deep gunmetal, really great shoes and boots, especially patent leather boots, flat sneakers in leopard or gunmetal (again) fabric.

WHAT WE THOUGHT:
Mention Boden to practically anyone and they will exclaim how cute the clothes are. Between Mini Boden (baby and children's wear), Johnnie B (the new collection for young girls and teens), this company has cute covered.

The Boden women's collection, however, is making inroads at being a fashion source chock full of trends available at a great price. The presentation was divided into groups of predominant colors – black, charcoal, green tones from yellow to teal, plumy hues and crimson reds. Though you'd think each grouping would contain the same things, just in different colors, that was not the case at all. This is an enormous collection, with what seemed like hundreds of items from shoes to hats and everything in between, and priced at no more than $100.

The details, like flattering flat pleats around the neck of a shirt, jeweled trim on a long cashmere cardigan or the company's signature dots used to cover a button placket are super tasteful and well done. Some might find this collection a bit precious, but piece by piece, it's a keeper.
