One mad hatter, coming right up!

She may have piles of money and a wardrobe that people would kill for (don't pretend), but Lady Gaga isn't above starting at the bottom to get her DIY on.

The pop star is said to be vying for an internship for superstar milliner Philip Treacy, best known for the avant-garde toppers he created for the late Isabella Blow and the green hat he designed for Sarah Jessica Parker to wear to the London premiere of the first "Sex and the City" film.

"She sent her CV [resume]," Treacy spokeswoman, Alessandra Greco, confirms to StyleList. "She is looking for an internship but we need to see her skills before!"

We assume she means hat-making skills... not singing, piano playing, and the fine art of straddling a prison cell in music videos.

The next step, Greco told us, is an interview. Oh, to be a fly on the wall...

Jokes aside, we think it's pretty cool that pop's most daring fashionista is taking a serious interest in design.

Let's just hope she's not stuck making copies and fetching lattes.
