Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir traded in his beloved shiny headbands for a new hair "accessory"-- a fuchsia pink mullet that he unveiled on Twitter.

Weir posted TwitPics of his new 'do from New Jersey's Eric Alt Salon, where he sat down to have his dark hair shorn high on the sides and feathered mullet-style in the back. He then dyed the new cut bright pink for drama.

His inspiration? Those fashion-forward ladies of "Sex and the City 2," which makes its much hyped premiere on May 27.

@JohnnyGWeir wrote: "At Eric Alt salon getting some pink in the mullet in honor of Sex and the City!"

What struck us about Weir's business-in-the-front, party-in-the-back 'do was how well it would have coordinated with the hot pink and black lace-up costume he wore at the Winter Olympics.

Then again, the aspiring fashion designer and recent Miss USA pageant judge had another reason to produce a new, flamboyant look for the cameras: He later tweeted that BlueFly.com had stopped by to photograph his closets!
