Jones Apparel Group, the company that owns Anne Klein, Nine West, and Jones New York, among others, is branching out into menswear this fall, creating denim with 30-year-old luxury leather and jeans label Andrew Marc.
Through the Jones Jeanswear Division, the clothing giant has long been a leader in women's denim (WWD estimates it at a $800 million business), distributing twelve brands including Gloria Vanderbilt, L.e.i., GLO, and now Jessica Simpson.
The new menswear denim by Andrew Marc will be a partnership between Jones and G-III, the owners of Andrew Marc, and a leading manufacturer and distributor of brands like Calvin Klein, Cole Haan, and Tommy Hilfger.
The first Andrew Marc men's denim in partnership with Jones will be created under the younger label Marc Moto and will hit 500 stores at the end of 2010. Marc Moto jeans will retail for $49-$79 and tops for $24-$49. Launches of more high-end (and higher-priced) Andrew Marc and Marc New York jeans wear will follow in 2011.
The Joneses won't just stop at jeans, though. Casual pants, shorts, jackets, woven and knit tops, tees, and sweaters will all be a part of the deal.
