Mr. Big (aka Chris Noth) posed that exact troubling question to Sarah Jessica Parker in this clip from Moviefone and her answer might surprise you.
"I know exactly, because it eludes me," Parker responds immediately.
"It's the bird. I wasn't allowed to keep the bird Carrie wore at the wedding that never happened. The blue beautiful bird. I can't get the bird. They wont give me the bird. The bird ... the bird has eluded me."
The bird she is referring to, of course, is part of the feathered vintage headpiece Carrie pairs with her equally dramatic Vivienne Westwood gown when Big leaves her at the altar in the first "Sex and the City" movie. It also prompts this hilarious deadpan exchange between she and Miranda.
Carrie: I put a bird on my head!
Miranda: Is that what that was? I thought it was feathers.
Carrie: It was a bird.
The reason the bird in question eludes Parker, it seems, is because it was on loan from New York Vintage, the famed fashion emporium frequented by designers, stylists, celebrities, and fashionistas. The really old pieces in the store's collection, such as this Bird of Paradise headpiece, are for rent only and stay in the shop's permanent archives.
Although, if Parker has her say, they'll reconsider.
"I love that bird and I took care of that bird in a way that I don't think anybody took care of that bird," she continues in the clip as Noth looks on incredulously. "That bird would molt and I would pick every single feather and we would keep every feather lost in a box and put it back on. I love that bird."
Is the bird really the best thing Carrie Bradshaw has ever worn? We were kinda expecting more Jimmy Choo than cockatoo, but let us know what you think in a comment below.
