Your stay at the very stylish Thompson Hotels just got a little more fashionable with Nanette Lepore, a favorite of Blair Waldorf, lending her über-feminine design expertise to new uniforms for Thompson staffers.

Lepore's sultry black cocktail dresses will outfit female staff members at three Thompson outdoor locations. Guests will see the body-skimming LBDs, which come with sexy side-splits, ruching and a bustier style top, on the rooftops of the Thompson Hotel on the Lower East Side in New York City and at Donovan House in D.C., as well as the celeb-studded Tropicana pool bar at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in L.A.

The collaboration with Lepore marks the first time Thompson has worked with a single designer on more than one property.

Other designers that have tried to upgrade hotel uniforms include Gwen Stefani for W Hotels, jewelry designer Ivanka Trump created uniforms for the Trump properties, and Amanda Ross, the new fashion director at W Hotels, says she wouldn't mind seeing uniforms created by big names like Derek Lam, Diane von Furstenberg, and Stella McCartney, among others.

My first thought when I saw the Nanette Lepore uniform was: where is the staffer going to put her ID and pocket change? It would seem that the Thompson Hotel is targeting a suave 007 type of customer--or one who wishes to live out the fantasy--and therefore a hotel vixen works perfectly with the brand.

Yeah, this will look great on your average pimple-faced college kid working the front desk. Unless they're figuring on hiring runway models at $ 100 an hour to check people in and out.

Thumbs up. When will airlines and other "service" industries wake up too? The last plane trip I took, one of the flight attendants was so fat that her hips whacked into everybody everytime she took a trip down the aisle. It's about math (size DOES matter) and visual appeal as much as fat chicks want to pretend that it isn't. Packaging DOES matter when you're selling something whether you like it or not.

I can understand a hotel chain wanting their staff to look nice but that outfit has paw me all over, written all over it. If someone is drunk at the time of being served, they may just do that. I wouldn't to wear for that reason alone.

It's not about a single airline stocking their employee list with Playmates. It's about overall attention to service AND style. Why bother dressing up a cow with a uniform when underneath, it's still a person who can't take care of herself?

Looks DO matter especially when selling something or providing a service. And it's not just about the superfical "looks." Looks DO attract customers but they also SAY something about the company and the individuals who provide the service. An attractive person tells the customer that A) the company cares about its image and service and B) the employee in conscientious and will likely care about YOU as much as they care about themselves. A fat unattractive employee "says" something very differently than someone who is in shape and can "wear the uniform."

So I wholly agree with the strategy to create a uniform and only hire people who can fit into it. Does this mean that every "in shape" person who applies for a job will be a good employee? Of course not. But you're assured that everyone who IS hired will at least look good enough to attract customers and, there ARE good looking people out there who also (gasp!) have great personalities. It's a shock, I know. Not all hot women are boring or grumpy or self-centered. Why settle for a fat-chick with a "great personality" when you can have a hot chick with a great personality just as easily? Maybe that'll be an incentive for the fat one's to get off their lazy Cheeto laden asses to go work out a little bit more?

Brian - I just had to look up your history of comments. You are just another hypocrite with double standards who believes your slightly above-average vocabulary makes you intelligent. Read your previous comments below:

"Ann Coulter on O'Reilly: Tiller Murder a 'Termination' {Politics Daily}
Jun 25th 2009 2:11PM Kill O'Reilly, Ann Killter and the rest of the FOX Nazis either know that they are hypocrites and terrible human-beings only saying stupid things for ratings.... or, the worse scenario, they truly DO believe the stupid things and lies that puke from their mouths. Either way, they ARE dangerous as they incite and feed intolerance, hatred and violence. They should not just be removed from the public arena, they should be prosecuted for domestic terrorism."

Do you even see how you resemble what you speak against ("Either way, they ARE dangerous as they incite and feed intolerance, hatred and violence.")? You are an Idiot.

Yeah....that outfit says "we hire hookers to serve you better." It might appeal to business men traveling alone but if you're hoping to attract their wives and families....strike 3!! You're outta here.

I am a Director of Sales at a brand name hotel and would be appalled if myself or staff were expected to wear such a "uniform". No guest is going to take someone seriously wearing such and it looks like it's for hotels that really want to give its' guest some extra special attention if you know what I mean.

Sexiness is class and respect no matter what you wear meaning sexy clothing and FEMALE no blah crap zilch. Bout time females looked and dressed like females. Since when older can't wear? Peasant. Don't go there than, glad some ragging nothing WON"T be there amoungst. As if your opinion of your kind is the only way to be. That's how classless and dumb nothing you are. Women designed these because they are real.

Love Nanette Lepore, hate these "uniforms". Not designed for ease of movement, designed for sexual harrassment. You can look nice without this short, tight, and revealing dress.
Also, I just love how people like commenter Brian are so high and mighty about how really perfect and great he is. Of course Brian has NO bad habits, NO stresses, NO anxieties or worries. It is just pitiful at the outrageous judgments people aim at each other. So someone has some weight on them and goes to food for comfort. How many things do you do behind closed doors, that are not great for your health, physical, mental, or spiritual? Too much drinking? Drugs? Nasty sexual habits? Gambling? Pornography? Even if the world might not see your hidden negative behaviors, God sees all and every thing we do is clear to Him. Stop judging the problems and troubles of your fellow humans and start judging yourself. You are FAR from perfect.
