Well, hullo, gov'nah.

Having taken a big chunk out of the Big Apple earlier this week, the "Sex and the City 2" gals headed to the Big Smoke for the film's London premiere last night -- and they brought a few designer frocks along for the ride.

If anyone was feeling a case of déjà vu, you're not alone. Star Sarah Jessica Parker sauntered down the red carpet in a billowing black strapless Alexander McQueen gown and a towering black Philip Treacy hat, recalling the green McQueen dress and Treacy topper she wore to the London premiere of the first "Sex and the City" film.

Along with her black lace head plumage (how'd you like to be the one sitting behind her?) and her leg-baring gown with an embellished nude bodice, Parker wore a black armband as a tribute to the late McQueen.

"There's only one person I could have worn tonight and that was Alexander McQueen," she told the Daily Mail.

"Lee, this is for you. I miss you very much."

While the actress looked bronzed and blonde at the New York City premiere in a yellow Valentino, last night saw her wearing her hair pinned back and sporting a soft smoky eye.

Kim Cattrall also opted for black, vamping it up in a strapless Thierry Mugler and her favorite red lipstick and Old Hollywood waves.

Cynthia Nixon, meanwhile, mixed things up with wavy hair extensions, subtle makeup, and a teal Narciso Rodriguez and silver Nancy Gonzalez box clutch.

Kristin Davis also let her hair down, rocking long, flowing locks and a vintage metallic Norman Norell dress with a plunging neckline (anyone else having flashbacks to Charlotte's racy Atlantic City makeover?).

So what's your take... did the girls hit it out of the park, or do you smell a fashion flop? Leave a comment.

Meanwhile, read how to score "Sex and the City 2"-worthy hairstyles.

Wow! She is a vision. I really think this is a very pretty woman.
What a woman would give to have a body like that. I would love to, just can't afford it!

That hat is stupid looking. And why didn't the photographer take a better shot? Probably because the hat is so stupid.

God bless Sarah Jessica Parker and her wonderful hats. I ADORE hats! I have been aching for years for hats to come back in style in the US and sadly I don't think they ever will. I can do without the gloves coming back, but I want the hats. Now of course I'm not talking about over the top creations such as this one, but more ordinary looking hats that top off a suit or a dress just beautifully. In fact, just this Easter I wore the cutest hat to church with my new Easter suit. I got TONS of complements on it. But of course I bought this hat on line on ebay from England. It's impossible to get a decent hat in the US. American women don't have a clue as to what they're missing. I'd give almost anything for American fashion to one day again be something to be proud about. For the most part American women run around looking like slobs. Don't believe me, just check out the Hollywood gossip websites everyday and see what these "stars" are wearing when they step out of their homes. And these are people who can afford nice clothes if they want them. They usually look worse than my cleaning lady. Or, go to your local supermarket and notice how many women are there in those disgustingly awful tight jersey stretchy pants, sloppy tee shirt and worn out dirty flip flops. Gives me the willies. Sure, I'm glad the days of girdles and garter belts are gone and having to wear hose and heels all the time in public. But I am SICK to DEATH of seeing women, especially in the dead of winter, with these pale fat legs in dresses and skirts with NO hose or stockings. Even Katie Couric's mother used to call her every day and tell her how badly it looked when she was on the Today Show. I would love to know what woman started this horrendous trend because I'd love to womp her up side the head and ask her about the brain cramp she had that day. It RUINED what little was left of any decent dress by American women. 99% of women don't have the legs for going without hose, and yes, that includes all those hollywood stars. So ladies, take some cues from Sarah Jessica Parker and ALL her co-stars in the Sex in the City series and start to take some pride in your appearance. It may be fiction but those ladies ALWAYS look good when they walk about of their apartments. Just ask yourself, would your grandmother have gone outside of her own yard dressed as sloppy as you are? I'm not talking about having to "dress up" all the time, I'm talking about looking well-groomed, polished, and I'll even settle for just clean some of the time. All I can say is that I was taught to dress properly by all of my aunts and older female relatives and I am so grateful. I enjoy being a female and looking like a woman and doing things like wearing stockings, pretty slips, heels, and especially hats. Save those flipflops for the beach. And remember, Never Ever wear them to the White House or to things like church, a job interview, or the hospital. Folks, you don't even want to get me started on church and the dress there in today's society. I'll summarize it this way. I see people coming to church, going and and kneeling at the alter rail to receive the holy sacraments in clothes that look like they're going home to clean out the barn. But yet, almost all of these people would dress 10 times better to go on a first date, go to a job interview, a funeral or a viewing, a dance or cocktail party, or even work every single day. I don't know about the rest of you, but I was taught that dressing nicely was a way of showing respect. So I'll leave you with this one thought. Of all those activities I've listed, shouldn't you be showing more respect to God, than you do a date, a potential or current boss, or to ANYONE or ANYTHING else in your life? Sure, God doesn't care what you wear, if all you have is old tattered clothes, I'm sure he's fine with that. But when you save your good for your friends and your co-workers, and your old for him, isn't this telling God he's not very high on your priority list? Not exactly the message I want to send to God before I meet him one day. (hopefully a long time away). On Sunday morning, he gets my highest respect, THEN I'll put on those scruffy jeans to wash the car when I come home. And I bet you Sarah wears a hat when she goes to church. So ladies, those of you out there that are girlie girlie like me, and like SJP, go buy those hats and help us bring back this WONDERFUL fashion here in the states. Don't let the British ladies have all the fashionable looks in the world today.
