We were in awe when we met Nuria Sitja -- lead makeup artist on Sex and the City 2 -- in the coves of Bergdorf Goodman's beauty floor. At a recent in-store event, she presided over the new Le Métier de Beauté counter with a relaxed air, belying none of her glamorous movie set exposure. It's no wonder the gals (and guys -- "Aidan and Big wore quite a bit of bronzer in the film," said Sitja.) of SATC trust her to oversee all the makeup looks for the movie. She's unflappable.
Sitja probably didn't even sweat under the blazing Morrocan (meant to look like Abu Dhabi) sun, where six weeks of filming took place and makeup required constant touch-ups and vigilance. "As soon as the director called for 'last looks' before shooting, our team ran in to make sure all the makeup was right, not running or shiny," Sitja expained.
Sitja's makeup looks for the movie can be summed up by the new Le Métier de Beauté Le Petit Poudrier "Golden Sun" Palette.
This credit-card sized compact contains four shimmery desert-chic shades to be used anywhere on the face: pink, bronze, gold and white sand highlighter; plus a square of aptly-named Magic Lustre Crème which can convert any of the powders into stains or glosses for lips, cheeks and eyes. Any beauty product that multitasks that much and fits in our pocket is a welcome addition.
Naturally, we were greedy about our one-on-one time with Sitja and also quizzed her about her latest must-haves.
Not surprisingly, Sitja exclaimed, "Crème de la Mer eye cream is my favorite!" and couldn't resist gently dabbing it on our parched undereye circles, before deftly applying Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Corrector Concealer and a spot of corally-pink blush that, "looks happy on everyone." Indeed.
She finished up with her current LMDB m.v.p. -- the Limited Edition Enchantment Lip Kaleidoscope palette of four sheer shades of gloss that you layer on from darkest to lightest for the absolute perfect color. "I was skeptical of this layering technique at first, but I love it now. You get such depth of color."
The Le Petit Poudrier "Golden Sun" Palette is available (for a limited time) at Bergdorf Goodman as a gift with purchase for anyone who buys $150 worth of Le Métier de Beauté products.
