On the rooftop floor of New York's St. Regis Hotel, models, makeup artists, hairstylists, manicurists, and beauty editors were buzzing from pre-show excitement of Jason Wu's Resort 2011 presentation.

Whirling in after a quick runthrough (and an impromptu pulling up of a huge rug that was to blame for many trips backstage), the pint-sized designer plopped into the chair of celebrity makeup artist Jenna Menard for a refresher.

And while we were completely floored by the Parisian-inspired looks the beauty team created, all eyes were on Wu and the jewel-toned compacts he was holding.

Created especially for Shiseido's Chinese makeup brand, Supreme Aupres, the teal, pink, and gold cases held shimmering eyeshadows. But if you want to get your hands on the Wu beauty gems, you'll have to head to China where the limited-edition compacts will be available this September.

Inspired by 1960s iconic Danish actress Anna Karina, Wu showcased a chic collection fused with nautical flair. And to round out the sophisticated designs, the beauty team perfected easy, breezy looks.

Jenn Chiminiello created a loose, textured braid by dividing the models' hair into three sections (left, right, and back). "The back section of the hair was secured into a low braid that was controlled," says Chiminiello, "and then the two side sections were then fed into that braid to give an illusion of looseness."

Influenced by the heavily lined upper lids women wore during the '60s, Menard modernized the look by mixing in a teal color and framing the eyes with layers of gold to create a halo effect. Amber Stores and her team of manicurists finished the looks by painting the model's digits in a custom-blend "true beige" nail color.
