in the story of a Hamlet production made by vampires.
"It was one of the best experiences of my film career," Aoki told StyleList at the premiere. She was flanked by her equally beautiful aspiring-actress sister, Elliot Stuart Hunter, and singer Sean Lennon, who performed a private concert at the after-party.
"I'm always learning, especially on set," Aoki said of jumping from fashion to acting. "I've been modeling since I was 14, so it's something that I know and understand quite well. And the acting stuff I've been doing since 2003, and I have to learn from all the people I can. Every time I do a film, I learn a little bit more. You get more invested and realize it's a very serious undertaking."
"Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead" is a surprisingly charming comedy featuring star turns by familiar faces including Ralph "Karate Kid" Macchio as an Italian tough guy and "Law & Order" star Jeremy Sisto as a New York cop. Veteran actor John Ventimiglia -- you might remember him as the restaurateur from "The Sopranos" -- practically steals the show as the villainous bloodsucker Horatio. (It is true that some of the plot points do not stand up to close examination -- but this is a vampire comedy, so what do you want?)
Aoki admitted that movie people had a lot of preconceptions about her since she had achieved fame as a model.
"Especially when you haven't done anything in film and you're not a seasoned actor," she said. "It takes time, and every film I do is an eye-opening experience. You learn from other actors, and I do love doing it, so it's fun."
Jake Hoffman ambled by long enough to make a joke about his father, who had been photographed that day locking lips with Jason Bateman at a Los Angeles Lakers game as a lark for the Kiss Cam. So, are the two men dating?
"Yes," the younger Hoffman said with a smirk. "It's a good thing!"
