Designed by Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini, the company's $230 iPad case comes in four styles: a black rubberized Guccissima leather version, an ebony option in trendy neoprene or a woven fabric, and a lighter beige fabric case. All come lined in suede and patterned in Gucci's signature interlocking G monogram.
Pre-orders for these four styles start June 7 on gucci.com, and on June 15 customers can scoop them up at Gucci's flagships in Rome, Milan, Paris, London, and New York.
New Gucci iPad cases in different colors, including mauve, military green, and blue, will debut in October, while a silver version will hit stores over the holidays and a bright red patent-leather case will arrive just in time for Valentine's Day.
And it's not only Gucci that is dressing up the latest e-readers. Diane von Furstenberg is now covering the Kindle in her vibrant signature animal and ikat prints.
The four new Kindle cases sold on Amazon.com -- there are two $65 canvas options and two $165 leather versions -- have bright pink lining, slots for business cards, and shiny gold toggle closures inscribed with the DVF logo.
