The beauty world can be paralyzing.

From the decade-long botox obsession to creams like Freeze 24 7 that claim to literally relax wrinkles into a youthful lift, women keep demanding more wrinkle-smoothing paralysis from their anti-aging treatments.

Now cult Brit beauty brand Rodial is riding the wave by introducing Glamoxy Snake Serum, which claims to plump and fill wrinkles with technology that simulates the poisonous venom of Southeast Asia's deadly Temple Viper snake.

But before you start envisioning a beauty experiment gone horribly wrong, rest assured that Rodial's version doesn't actually contain the fatal venom.

Rodial instead claims that their neuropeptide formula mimics the venom by safely inhibiting the contraction of muscles so that expression lines and wrinkles are relaxed into a smoother look and feel. A carbon molecule called Fiflow BTX is added to the formula to increase cell turn over and plump skin too.

Perhaps surprisingly for those who don't follow the beauty industry's every move, this is not the first snake venom-inspired face cream on the market -- not even close. You can get a "snake venom" facial at Sonya Dakar in Beverly Hills or look for the ingredient in Kumaara Overnight Repair Complex.

But Glamoxy Snake Serum also doubles as a skin primer, with a subtle pearly powder added to blur the complexion into a more luminous skin tone. Rodial's signature antioxidant, pomengranate ellagic tannin, provides protection and helps cushion cells from environmental free radical damage.

That's a tall order of work -- and the promises are reflected in the price.

A bottle of the youth serum will cost you $160, but we're watching your wallet for you. StyleList has arranged for one lucky reader to try the bottle for free!
