The queen of the party-bridesmaid-special occasion dress has been stretching her creative wings into sportswear for several seasons. And now, her branded stores will reflect it.
Starting in August, the Nicole Miller flagship stores in New York, Chicago, Miami, and Hollywood will carry about 95 percent sportswear and a mere five percent dresses, the opposite of how they have been merchandised.
"Because of our department store business, we've always sold more dresses," Miller explained to StyleList. "I realized that my stores are not really reflecting what I'm showing on the runway, so I'm changing the stores to be runway driven."
"We don't need to buy for our stores the way other people buy for their stores -- we can buy what we want," she continued. "We totally changed -- the windows have sportswear and all the mannequins have sportswear."
Don't worry, dressy-dress ladies – you'll still be able to get your fill at department stores.
