How many mascaras have inspired bags designed after their iconic color schemes?

CoverGirl's LashBlast Length Mascara can now claim that distinction, as celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath, who doubles as the brand's Global Creative Design Director, has launched a vibrant yellow and black set of cosmetics bags in partnership with LeSportsSac.

We first previewed the bag two weeks ago, and this week it officially launched at a party at LeSportSac's SoHo New York Flagship, where models, editors and the featured woman of the moment crammed into a space pumping with dance music and flowing champagne.

We wondered: how does a traveling makeup artist always on-the-go pack her own makeup kit?

"I'm awful, I bring 70 bags with me everywhere. But what is essential is to decant your products into smaller travel sized bottles so that they travel easier and don't leak," McGrath told StyleList.

And if you're short on space and time, McGrath says two timeless components are essential to beauty.

"Lots of mascara and beautiful skin will save you every time. Pack a mascara, a perfectly-matched base, a blush and a fresh lip color option for day and for night," advised McGrath.

Named "The Pat" and "The Page," the zippered bags retail for $28 and $62 at Look for a CoverGirl Lash Blast Length Mascara and a coupon tucked into the bags as a special treat for long lash-loving fashionistas.

"The nylon has an 80s feel to it, doesn't it?" commented McGrath.

Like leggings, jellies and tie-dye, we're betting it's not the last time we revisit the shoulder pad decade.
