Perhaps making a statement about her new, grown-up, post "Hannah Montana" image, Miley Cyrus debuted a shorter, more sophisticated hairstyle at the MuchMusic Awards in Toronto, Canada last night.

With the waist-length extensions gone, the 17-year-old rocked the stage with shoulder-length wavy locks in a lighter, sultry shade of blonde.

From the Disney Channel to the big screen to her worldwide concert tour, Cyrus' "climb" to stardom has taken her from brunette to redhead and straight strands to curls, but her new look seems to suit the "all grown up" image best.

And a little less hair fit her "little less clothing" look too as she performed "Party in the U.S.A." last night (even though she was in Canada) donning a skin-tight black leotard with matching black leather shorts.

"I feel more comfortable dressing with a little less, which is just how I've always been..." she recently told The Associated Press. "Now I'm able to do that a little more freely and, also, I've just grown up to be this way too. It's not like this was me five years ago. It's me now, presently.

While we love the hair, the outfits leave us wondering if this teen pop star is being the best role model these days.

Check out the boots (which weren't made for walking) that she wore recently!
