After all, her hubbie, rapper Nick Cannon, proposed to her with a ring hidden inside a Ring Pop package.
Elizabeth Arden, the company that holds Carey's fragrance license, took this romantic gesture as inspiration for a new fragrance venture -- Mariah plus Ring Pop owner Topps Company equals Lollipop Bling. The line will include three candy scented fragrances are named after Carey's songs -- Honey, Mine Again and Ribbon.
"As an artist, I'm always looking for unique business models to connect with my fans and reach out to new segments of the audience, through different creative endeavors in music, partnerships or fragrances. I think this line really comes with a fresh approach that is both innovative and accessible to my loyal fan base and beyond, but will bring something new to the market," said Carey in an interview with WWD.
Lollipop Bling is not the singer's first foray into fragrance. She's had years of eau experience with M by Mariah Carey, Luscious Pink, Forever Mariah Carey and more. This time around she's certainly embraced the idea of summer fun -- when customers buy a scent they will also receive a free Ring Pop as an added treat.
All three scents will be available in July at department and specialty stores in 1.0 oz bottles priced at $35 each.
