The "Project Runway" Season 4 winner, who possesses a Kardashian-like quality for multitasking, has announced his collaboration with the O-Cel-O brand.
(And here StyleList thought the fashion set was just doing hotel rooms and Target collaborations.)
O-Cel-O has hired Siriano to give the humble scrub sponge a runway inspired makeover. The refashioning is being paired with a "Clean With Style" sweepstakes where some lucky domestic goddess will get tickets to Siriano's Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week runway show in September.
During which, the winner will get a "sneak peek at the fashions that will inspire Christian's scrub sponge designs," the brand says. Sounds like some squeaky-clean fun.
The designer sponges' big reveal? Spring 2011.
"The new collection with O-Cel-O sponges will allow everyone to bring home a piece of the runway that is fun, affordable and unexpected," Siriano said in a statement.
This news has StyleList wondering if hyper busy Siriano was "having a moment" when he inked this deal. What designer wants to see all their "genius" go, um, down the drain?
Then again, whimsical designer Betsey Johnson previously collaborated with O-Cel-O on a line of sassy sponges.
And we've seen what Siriano managed to do when Payless Shoes let him take tropical-hued fabric -- inspired by Italy's Amalfi coast -- and turn it into a pair of inexpensive sneakers.
What we would really like to see is what the diminutive designer can do with our having-a-bad-hair-day kitchen mop.
Speaking of "Project Runway," winners, check out our one-on-one chat with Season 7 victor (and Siriano fan) Seth Aaron Henderson.
