Calling all Swiss misses: This fall, OPI is embarking on an European tour, and its first stop is Switzerland.
From the spiky peaks of the Alps to the chateaus of Lucerne the famous Bern bears, the rooftop of Europe was the inspiration for the 12 decadent shades that make up the ubiquitous nail lacquer's Fall 2010 color collection.
"Switzerland provided the inspiration for this season, with a backdrop of snow-peaked mountains, lush glacial valleys, and glittering lakes," says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. "With luxurious hues across the color spectrum, the Swiss Collection features jeweled tones from ruby red to shimmering gold and everything in between."
"The Swiss Collection features the same relaxed luxury that walked the fashion runways, where timeless shades of black, camel and cream were met with a wealth of jeweled emerald, sapphire, and gold," explains Weiss-Fischmann. "Wearing these colors on fingers and toes will accessorize the season's must-have pieces – from masculine-inspired tailored jackets contrasted with ultra-feminine dresses to beautiful bohemian garments with toughened touches of leather."

The cheeky shade names call to mind Swiss mainstays, like Glitzerland, a cool gold, Yodel Me on My Cell, a deep blue, Diva of Geneva, a vibrant pink red, and Color So Hot it Berns, a warm red. The new collection will be available in August 2010 at Dillard's, JCPenny and Ulta, along with professional salons worldwide, where each shade will retail for $8.50 each.
Though many of them read quite bright, each shade has a gray-black undertone, playing into the overall moody, broody tone that's been set for fall on the runways and with other nail offerings like Chanel Nail Vernis in Paradoxal.
So whether you decide to dip into OPI's Swiss collection or not, this fall your tips be look anything but neutral.
For a look that's totally now, try neon nail polish.

Really love the idea of moody broody undertones! These are perfect for the transition between summer and fall...OPI are collaborating with Dell so you can customise your notebook - read the story on Vogue.co.uk here: http://bit.ly/9c6k22 so hoping these colours will be available for that in the future. William Tell Me About OPI would look really cool!
