Miley Cyrus Spends $24,000 on New Hair Extensions

It's been said that it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, and apparently Miley Cyrus is no exception.

Last week we reported (and applauded) that the 17-year-old pop star had ditched her lengthy hair extensions and was sporting a chic -- and much more natural -- 'do.

But maybe we were the only ones who loved it because industry insiders now say Cyrus has returned to her hip-length locks. Not only that, but you won't believe how much she paid for them!

A cool $24,000. (Nearly as much as her "Can't Be Tamed" corset!)

Sources told InTouch Weekly that "Miley bought the best hair possible, and then had it dyed to match hers exactly. Her hair is an investment."

For that amount of dough, is it any surprise that Miley reportedly had the extensions flown in from Italy to New York? She then had them delivered to hairstylist Kristina Barricelli at New York City's expensive Gemini 14 salon (which also services Brandi Irwin, the woman who spends $47,000 per year on her hair). From there, Miley's new hair -- and her hairstylist -- were flown to L.A., where it was put on.

Whew. Those must be some locks.

But really Miley, we liked your shorter 'do better.

Meanwhile, in other former Hannah Montana news, take a look at what she wore to the Canadian music video awards!

Awe man! I could live on what Miley spends on her hair. Sad but true. And if it was what she spends on her whole bod including clothes, I could live 10 years for every one Miley year. I guess I won't get to date Miley anytime soon. I Love Miley and I'm not worthy.

I know a lot of people will bash the crap out of Miley for the amount of money she spent on her extensions, but my feeling is that if you have the money to look that good then go ahead and do it and don't worry about what other people are going to say. If I had that kind of money to spend on my hair I would get the extensions too! I am not a Miley fan, however this girl works longer and harder than any kid of that age I know, so if she earned it - then it's hers to spend. The only criticism I have of extensions is that why do they always have to look as if they were never brushed? Oftentimes, I see women with long extensions and they look so scraggly and greasy. I have a good friend who has them and her hair always looks healthy, smooth and shiny. She also gets hers done somewhere in NY city - but I know she doesn't pay as much as Miley paid. Oh, to be rich! *sigh* lol

America is suffering financially and I hope these diva people will think twice the money they spend since it doesn't look any different than any other girls hair looks.

Sandy said, "America is suffering financially and I hope these diva people will think twice the money they spend since it doesn't look any different than any other girls hair looks."

Sorry to say that Miley and her diva ilk don't have money problems. She was raised pretty much with a silver spoon anyway because of her dad, and now she's the breadwinner, so she doesn't have a point of reference like, say Loretta Lynn, who came from abject poverty. Miley can't possibly relate to us "ordinary" people, so spending $24K on just her hair is no big thing to her.

That said, I actually like her hair, long or short. Of course, I thought she was trying to "grow up", be "more mature", so the shorter style seemed more appropriate. Just proves that she has no idea what "mature" is.

One word in the article kinda says it all "SERVICED" Here in Vermont that's what we have done to all our dairy heifers. Being a " country girl" Miley oughta know what that means. On the up side, when ever these wealthy entertainment folks spend their money, regardless on what it is, It puts it back out there into the ecionomy and usually to some one a step down the food chain and on and on until eventually maybe if I'm lucky I get a scrap of it. I believe Our dearly beloved Ron Reagan refered to it as the trickle down effect or perhaps the multi story outhouse. Sounds in some ways undesirerable but then again maybe Capitalism does have some merits. At least the Gummit ain't in there peelin' off their cut. Well maybe.

I wonder what Miley thinks about us working folks. Does she know, some of us make that much in one year. I only can hope she gives generously to charities. I am happy for anyone with money, im not jealous of the girl. I hope she is helping someone other than her family, and her self. Times are tough for so many people, it just gets me that anyone would, or could, spend that much on hair.

Personally, I think little Miley looks like a hooker in training -- she's a kid, she should look and act her age, but sadly, kid rock stars fade out by their twenties -- and she'll have to sell that hair.

I don't understand the Miley Cyrus craze, can't see where she is that talented, not as a singer or an actor. Must be her fame and popularity started with the younger kids, watching her on TV, pushing her forward to be some super star! The girl acts and dresses much older than her actual age. One day she may look back and realize she gave up the best years of her life for money and fame. Be a kid, enjoy it while you can, time passes so quickly.

Do you live at Disneyland or something? Why do you think being a kid or teen is always so great? The best years of your life are when nobody can order you around, you can drive your brand new car, travel the world, have no money worries what-so-ever and can even pay cash for a multi-million dollar mansion. And have millions of people think you are great and have a loving family and true friends. Miley could retire right now, but she won't because she likes it. But she has complete freedom to persue any dream, unlike most of us. Miley rules!

Instead of acting out in jealousy about her money. Take a look at how many trained and profesional paid people were involved in just her hair. Those people are glad she has the money to spend, it pays their salary. Stop hating her for how much she has, by damnd she's paying peoples salary.. Are any of you haters paying out money so that others also have a job?
