Old Spice Launches New Isaiah Mustafa 'Smell Like a Man, Man' Commercial

Old Spice has just unveiled its second commercial for its clever "Smell Like a Man, Man" campaign, which proved so popular that it received more than 11 million YouTube views and helped land star Isaiah Mustafa a deal with NBC.

Now, the hunky former football player is back in all his shirtless (yum) glory, baking birthday cakes, building kitchens, diving into hot tubs, posing on motorcycles and other activities that your lame-o boyfriend can't do because, apparently, he smells.

But before you rush out to buy him a bottle of cologne, take a moment to pop some popcorn, dim the lights and settle in for a little eye candy. With pecs like these, who cares what the guy smells like?

Most colored people smell bad, by either foul smelling body odor or the sickening colognes they wear to cover it up. I would never use old spice now that I know coloreds use it.

Jealousy is a side effect of feeling inadequate.People who feel that they are on top of their game don't make comments like that.Besides come into the new millennium,colored is an antiquated(out of date)word.It's true that vocabulary shows the measure of intelligence(ability to process information and thoughts)

Will, I am not responding to Blake's comments, I am making an analogy. I am demonstrating the fallacy of his comments by showing that in neither instance do such broad generalizations work. Most colored people don't smell bad, and most Caucasian people aren't stupid.

I agree, though there's nothing wrong with the gay part of it, it's just ironic, eh?

it comes across as a joke, and is funny if you take it that way, but the serious underlying message that will scare men into buying it is: You suck if you don't smell like a man, and you won't unless you use Old Spice. And if you do, you will automatically be rewarded with a great body and the skills of a renaissance man.

I don't see the "gay" aspect. But the depicted character is a guy who's entirely too much of a good thing and knows it all too well, so I see the arrogance you point out. He's hilarious just for pulling it off so well! As to the attitude, I'm a woman who's behaved similarly with people who've "started up" at my expense- and thereby stopped it. ;-)

a girl's daddy is her knight in armour and her protector and she remember's how daddy smelled when he picked her up and told her how much he loved his daughter,,, we need more father's today instead of jerks who have kid's and don't know how to be a father, because they are still a kid themselve's............

it's sad that most of these comments are going to be aimed at a racist idiot who probably doesn't even have a girlfrind because he smells funky...but on to the real point of the comment, my husband uses old spice body wash and i can't wait for him to get home so we can sit on the couch and he can put his arms around me...he smells delicious...and isiah mustafa is pretty delicious himself (and blake, i am a happily married WHITE woman-15 years) as is his voice...the commercials are brilliantly funny, they work...one of the best campamiangs on tv right now...

If Old Spice continues to use this obnoxious spokesperson they will lose a 30 year loyal customer. I used to have a shelf full of expensive colognes and found that I got the most compliments (from women) when I wore Old Spice, so I dumped the rest. I'll probably be going back to the others unless OS dumps this clown. Hey Blake, if anyone smells bad it's probably you. It's dopubtful that anyone as ignorant as you can hold a job, therfore, cannot afford soap much less cologne.

It is a proven fact. I have had more women while wearing Old Spice compared to any other cologne.. It is a chick magnet.. and heck I am not that handsome/ average in a way but I am clean. and have manner's and women seem to find that appealing I guess. I'm clueless.. but hey Old Spice gets me the gold..... so I don't care how they market the stuff just keep making it......I kinda like the commercial's they are funny.......p.s Sheila your post was right on........

The way that Erin Donnely wrote this article just furthers the injustice of the manipulation and exploitation of men, objectifying us as mere sex objects, to use, abuse, and lose! I suppose that if Isaiah walked into the room right now, you would just grab him, throw him down, and take advantage of him.
You women have got to learn: We Men Are Not Sex Objects!!!!!

Millions of viewers can't be wrong. The commercial is on YouTube and has 11.2 Million views. I for one am in the majority. Even after all this time I like the original and find it hilarious. This one is pretty funny too. Not a big Old Spice user myself, but these commercials could make me switch.
