Knowles and her daughter Beyoncé, the forces behind the House of Deréon and Deréon brands, have entered into a license to make luxe bedding that is not terribly expensive.
"The inspiration is all the dressmaker details that we put in the clothes," Knowles tells StyleList. "I've been doing bedding for a long time. I bought dress fabric and made beautiful pillows before people were making beaded pillows."
This collection, which made its debut at a June cocktail party at the Arrow Home Fashions showroom in New York City's Madison Square area, includes comforters, sheets, pillows, and quilted coverlets with coordinating standard and euro shams. The prices range from $149.99 – $199.99 for House of Deréon and $49.99 – $99.99 for Deréon.
"This is like a dream come true," Knowles adds. "These are so affordable with all these beautiful details. There's no excuse not to have a beautiful bedroom now."
"I love all the aspects of home," Knowles explains. "I have a concept for you-do-your-own decorating, and it's a really cool concept. I have to find the right partner and hope to make it really, really affordable at a mass level."
Knowles also has a concept for a store that will carry all of the House of Deréon and Deréon products and is looking for space in Houston, Texas, her hometown.
"I would just love for everything to be in one place. I think people don't realize how many things we've got going and just to have them in one place would be amazing."
