Victoria Beckham Appointed Range Rover Creative Design Executive

We always knew Victoria Beckham was a driving force in the fashion world, but this? This we didn't see coming.

The Spice Girl formerly known as Posh has been appointed Creative Design Executive for Range Rover. Major, right?

Beckham's new post was announced at Range Rover's 40th Anniversary party at Kensington Palace's Orangery in London, where the British mum of three stunned the crowd in a tan asymmetrical drape-neck dress from her own collection and nude Brian Atwood for Victoria Beckham shoes.

"Victoria Beckham is a talented British fashion designer and is extremely knowledgeable about great design and trends," said Land Rover and Range Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern.

"Victoria understands luxury products -- she is a Range Rover fan and has been a Range Rover owner for many years."

Uh, so that qualifies her for the job? What about the fact that she's also been around the block a few times and has a lot of mileage on her? We kid, we kid!

"Her fashion business is now in its third year and her designs are loved by critics and bought by many of the most stylish women in the world," McGovern elaborated.

"I believe this appointment adds a new dimension to my design team as we continue to design products to appeal to a wider audience."

Clearly this marks one of Beckham's most prestigious career highlights, not counting her appearance this weekend as an underwater queen on "SpongeBob SquarePants."

"This is a very exciting collaboration," Beckham said of her new gig. "The classic British heritage of Range Rover and the effortless style, quality, and beauty is something I truly admire and also what i hope to achieve with my own brand. I am honored to take on this role and be part of the creative team."

Why do we get the feeling that the body of the vehicle is suddenly going to become really skinny?

Seriously, we at StyleList are thrilled about Beckham's new job, and salute her with a "zig-a-zig-ah!" But if Sporty Spice suddenly becomes Creative Design Executive for Jeep, something definitely ain't right.

Why is it that every time someone is skinny they say they are anorexic? PEople think they can go up to anyone skinny and call them "hey your so skinny" i dare them to say that to a fat chick!! I am skinny i eat great but i dont eat junk, So Good for her I thik she is great!!

It's a publicity stunt. Everybody and his brother know that designing a dress or women's shoes is one thing, but designing cars....quite another. They bought her for her name. What they don't realize is we don't care. Hearing the name "Victoria Beckham" is NOT going to make me run out and buy a RR anyhow. Too much bloody money for me and everyone I know. Petrol hogs too!

Congratulations Victoria.. She keeps on doing her thing, she didn't let the spice girls stop her from still being in the limelight. She is doing big things in the fashion industry and very proud of her, plus she still looks stunning especially for being a mother of 3. I wish more women would take after her and realize just because you're a mother with kids does not mean you have to let yourself go, stay attractive for your husbands please. and i don't mean that in a mean way, husbands need to lose the gut, lay off the beer and chips and look good for their wives as well. =)
