We're so used to seeing Mad Men's January Jones dressed as a prim and proper 1950s housewife that Jones' latest photo shoot as a wild and free 1920s Clara Bow-like flapper for Marktbeauty.com had us doing a double take -- and wow!

Celeb hair stylist and site founder Mark Townsend thought it was time for the 32-year-old actress to break out of her comfort zone.

"I really wanted to give her a new look, she can be such a chameleon, but we usually see her with a classic, very Grace Kelly look. Makeup artist Rachel Goodwin and I were inspired by 1920s sirens and we wanted to show the power of hair and makeup and how they can be used to really transform a person's look," Townsend tells StyleList.

Rest assured, the North Dakota native didn't shear off her trademark blonde bob for the shoot.

"I used a wig from garlanddrake.com in a red shade and cut it into a bob with choppy ends by using thinning shears on the bottom two inches," reveals Townsend. "To give the hair incredible shine, I sprayed Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray. To keep the hair in place, I used Dove Damage Therapy Extra Hold Hairspray."

Meanwhile, Goodwin dramatically changed Jones' brows into the steeply stenciled arch brows and sultry noir-red lip of the flapper girl.

"This look was influenced by surrealist black and white photography from Paris in the '20s," says Goodwin.

In another photo, Jones comes full circle with a classic rich brow and pale lip that 1960s icons Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Elizabeth Taylor were known for wearing.

We can't wait to see which celeb metamorphoses next under the talented hands of Townsend and Goodwin.
