'Jersey Couture' Prom Fashion Showdown - Exclusive Sneak Peek
Prom season may be over in the real world, but it's just getting started on Oxygen's docudrama "Jersey Couture."
In this exclusive StyleList sneak peek of tonight's episode (above), Diane Scali, the caffeinated owner of glitzy Freehold, N.J., dress shop Diane & Co, announces her boutique's annual prom-dress sales competition.
Her motivate-the-troops pep talk includes her signature "booty-bop" dance and playful slapping of her staff's prominent rear assets. Seriously.
"The girls don't work on commission, so this is an incentive to keep them motivated during prom and the busy season," explains Scali's daughter and type A saleswoman Kimberly Scali Gambale. That means it's bring-on-the-sequins time!
Our advance look sets up a little, um, friendly competition on the sales floor. We're not expecting "Jersey Shore"-style dustups or hair pulling in the dressing rooms, but there's some definite Garden State attitude.
Last year's winner, Maria, snagged herself a Louis Vuitton bag for selling the most prom dresses in a single week.
This year, the Scali family has decided to mix things up and is going to reward the staff member who produces the highest dollar amount in sales.
Staffer Vanessa is so confident she's going to win that she tells Scali, "I'll let you know what I want [for a prize] tomorrow." Maria, who has won two years in a row, is not having any of that. Reality drama!
StyleList hears this episode also features a staff prom fashion show (expect evidence of the slutty chic trend) as well as a down-to-the-wire search for a size 24 prom dress.
"Jersey Couture" airs tonight at 10 p.m. ET on Oxygen.
