While most people don't wear evening gowns while cooking, Gwyneth Paltrow doesn't look so ridiculous doing so in the new August issue of Vogue.

The 37-year-old actress, who is releasing her first cookbook, "My Father's Daughter," in April 2011, steps away from the stove for the cover of Vogue's annual 'Age Issue', wearing an electric blue Burberry frock with a plunging v-neckline.

Inside the magazine, Paltrow is photographed by Mario Testino in a high-low mix of Prada and Dries Van Noten dresses, distressed American Eagle Outfitters jeans, and airy pajama tops while preparing food in her enviable New York City kitchen.

For the accompanying article Vogue's resident food writer, Jeffrey Steingarten, cooks with Paltrow on multiple occasions, going from the aforementioned apartment in Manhattan to her sprawling London abode, which boasts an outdoor pizza oven.

Yes, that's right, the notoriously svelte actress, whose been on the cover of Vogue three times before, loves pizza.

But that fact is surely countered by her daily two-hour workouts and star personal trainer Tracy Anderson, whose tips Paltrow chronicles on her site, Goop.com.

Of course, since the actress and mother of two was fronting the "Age Issue," the inevitable twenties vs. thirties topic of conversation came up, and it seems Paltrow prefers the latter.

"My twenties were a great time in my life, I wouldn't change them for anything, but in my thirties I feel like I really know who I am," Paltrow says in this behind-the-scenes video clip.

"I feel like I've made huge mistakes, I've learned from them. I've had children and I feel much more comfortable in my skin now than I did in my twenties. They were fun, but I wouldn't go back there for anything."

To read Steingarten's profile, see more images from Paltrow's photo shoot, and check out the behind-the-scenes clip in which she discusses how motherhood has shaped her life, head over to vogue.com.

Speaking of motherhood, see how the star completely transformed a Nashville home in just 10 days so her family could live with her while she's filming.

Paltrow had something done to her face, she doesn't even look the same. Sad they have to mess with something most women already envied. Don't open the spammer's sites, all have a virus!!!!!

Think I'll stick to bobby flay, paula deen, and rachael ray, not a fan of gweneth, saw some of her recipes and techniques. I am an avid cook and personally what she does is either a half hearted attempt to learn how to cook or overly scripted. WHO the hell cooks like this?? Cooking is a roll up your sleeves, show your passion, get down and dirty, and experiment, type of science.

Gwyneth, dear, you are simply not credible as a hands on mom or a goddess in the kitchen. Go a month or two without assistants and having clothing sent to you and others returning things for you, then get back to the rest of us. Let us know how that whole cooking in an evening gown thing works out for you....and when you have lasted even a week of really doing things that real moms do, maybe you won't be so annoying to the rest of us. Oh, and that whole putting down America and wanting to raise your kids abroad comment---happy to call a car to take you and your family to the airport. The UK can have you.

Is she still around? Haven't seen or heard a thing about her in years. Well, glad she's keeping busy playing the my-poop-don't-stink game, it's harmless enough, and I'm glad she's happy raising her kids in a good place and living the good life. There are far worse things she can be doing.

Most of us are not even close to having the financial wealth that Paltrow has, either passed down from her father; personal; or from her husband. But she's doing what she WANTS to do ALL of the time. Right now, she wants to put out a cookbook or two and is doing that. She can "afford" to cook in whatever she wants to cook in, b/c it doesn't matter to her if she gets it dirty or not, she can just toss it out w/the rest of the garbage, get it cleaned or absolutely WHATEVER she wants to do. Money is not a problem w/this woman. I can say two things: KUDOS to her--how great it would be to have a life of little worries, and also geeze. I'd LOVE to be able to even have a semblance of a cook's kitchen (having cooked since I was little w/my mom and all into my many years of adult life) and yeah, I'm a tad jealous, but whatever! At least I have a decent kitchen and stove (that works!) and isn't all broken down or something like that. Yeah, I think she's had some "work" done to her face--it just doesn't "look" like her at all or something. And yeah, I think it's too bad, she should have just left it alone. But that said, I am not her and I don't have her wealth to knock around w/anything, including my looks.

The tag line said that she has a "guilty pleasure". Hell, I'll give her a "guilty pleasure" -- and I guarantee that she will NEVER forget my first name!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gwyn looks gorgeous, as always and that blue dress on the cover of vogue is stunning!! I am glad she is making a cookbook because she obviously knows how to cook well to stay healthy and beautiful unlike the typical American who is overweight and disgusting.. I think I may purchase her cookbook because she is one of the only respectable people in hollywood and her figure is impeccable even after having two kids.. I bet there are some unique recipes I would have never thought of :) keep up the good work! oh and I cook in heels as often as possible

Gwyneth seems alright, but in general a lot of anger against her in these posts...

Good, it's about time we Americans stopped worshipping celebrities while the quality of life declines for the vast majority, (no jobs, etc,)

Worshipping celebrities and sports "heroes" is the real "opiate of the masses", distracting people from the erosion of economic conditions in this country.
