Tattoos on Women a Turnoff, New Survey Finds

Tough break, Angelina.

As we previously reported, the actress just confessed to getting a new inner-thigh tattoo as a token of love for Brad Pitt, but according to a new British survey, 47 percent of men find ink on women a turnoff (cough, Michelle McGee, cough), the Daily Mail reports.

Maybe next time stick with a nice box of chocolate?

The Ask Jeeves survey also found that 38 percent of women aren't fond of men with tattoos, according to the paper. (We make an exception for David Beckham.)

And it seems, it depends on just who's sporting the stamps (phew, we're not alone).

According to the poll, 55 percent of adults saw Amy Winehouse as looking worse with her tattoos, while just 17 percent said the same of Megan Fox. Hmmm....

Of Brits aged 16 to 44, 29 percent reportedly have a tat, though 23 percent of those who have gone under the needle say they regret their ink.

"We have noticed an increasing number of our users asking Jeeves about tattoo removal services and about the various ways to get rid of them," spokesperson Nadia Kelly tells the Daily Mail.

"Tattoos are obviously more popular than ever and we get enquiries about the latest designs or to look at those sported by celebrities.

"But it does suggest that this is one of the things that seems like a great idea at first but which many come to regret when they grow older."

Hear that, Miley?

Meanwhile, see which product Angelina Jolie uses when she wants to cover up her numerous tattoos.

People were trying to get me to get tats. even offered to pay for them. I thought about it for a few days and decided no way. I've akways found them nasty looking, see people everyday covered in them.. Men with their faces tattooed,, Work with people who can't pay their bills because they are spending the money on tats.. I;ve seen women with huge butterflies on the back of their necks, writing on the back of their necks, it's awful looking.. Wait till these girls have babies and stretch marks mar their tats.. Ever see what celulite does to tats? I see it daily with the hot weather.. It's a fad and may last for years but the senisible teens will say no when they are of age.. Older women get them trying to hold onto their youth, younger ones want to be like the hollywood idiots.. They are like sheep, afraid to say no to this fad.. I feel sorry for the ones who mared themselves with tats..

I would have to agree that this article is bull sh*t. I have 6 tattoos, the 6th tattoo is a back that is a work in progress, and to be perfectly honest I don't get them to turn anyone on! I get them for myself and no one else. If someone who wants to date me doesn't like them then tough, they either deal with it or don't.

Ummm I guess depending on who exactly you survey this could be accurate...but lets not take it to an extreme. If you survey all the members on the Suicide Girls, Gods Girls, Deviant Nation and readers of tattoo magazines I am sure you would get VERY different survey results compared to surveying an upper middle class yuppie, christian or conservative....surveys are always faulty anyway...=D

Incredible how logic has become so twisted that one’s lack of critical thinking skills can permit them to rationalize permanently defacing their bodies because some tribe in Africa, Australia or the South Pacific has done it for millennia. Somewhere along the line they evidently missed the point they were not living among those societies. For the record, I find tasteful tats on guys and ugly girls acceptable but feel this latest fad of defacing beautiful girls or women is a crime against nature, except for a small slave tat, of course 8;>. Oh, by the way, can I have a patch of your skin when you die?

I typically go into depth on my opinion but what I'd say has already been said by a few posters. I'll just say this:

The lot of the commentators here are extremely ignorant (reducing tattooing to a recent fad?) , narrow-minded, and persnickety and obviously have an extremely shallow view of what is "beautiful" or aesthetically pleasing (to anyone).

Until you start to think for yourself you're not going to "get" the body modification culture. You're just going to continue to open your mouths and let the script play out when you get that social queue.

Your presuming theres any logic to twist. you so much as wear shoes or get braces your truly disfiguring your body, where tattoos don't affect a single muscle strand or alter the shape of a person. you so much as wear earrings, go to a fireworks display or a basketball game your doing something, that is based off of something may have originated from some ancient tribe or culture. It's not some tribe in Africa or Australia; for some it's our very humanity. Your calling a human being ugly, or defaced, for skin ink then your notion of purity is naive or truly creepy (depending on weather or not you're past puberty) where's the critical thinking? Wheres the evolution? and most importantly, wheres the civility?

I see a tattooed person, I see a person, I don't look down on him/her anymore than I would for whatever their natural skin tone is.

DEAR PATTY AND EVERYONE WHO HAS EXPRESSED A DISLIKE WITH IGNORANT OPINIONS!
::::::
Whether YOU get a tattoo or not doesn't make you better or worst of a person. It doesn't mean you have more class or less class, its a matter of taste and how you choose to express yourself in life. Please note, there are some HOT, beautiful women who get tattoos, for example ME! I am a surfer and I have a whole sleeve done expressing my love for surfing, they're all waves and surf related which mean a lot to me! Everytime I look at them, I smile! To all you judgemental pricks, your opinion is obviously irrelevant. Ive been told my men that because of my tattoos, they felt a little intimidated to approach me because they didnt know what to expect.."hot girl with tats...hmmm" and guys who wont date girls with tats are a bunch of sackless douche bags anyways, not manly enough to handle it I suppose...
Ive been to the south recently, down in TN!!! People looking at me like I'm an alien lol Theyre so use to seeing white bread boring looking people that you pop one in that has something unique and everyone just looks at you and wonder whether to like you or not... Of course after talking to me they all liked me but there was a brief moment where I could almost hear the wheels in their brains turning...

When I'm 80, my tats wont make me look worst or better. WE all get old and lets be honest, when were old no one looks sexy, thats life! I'll look back and pat myself on the back for not caring what others think as far as TATS ON A CHICK, and im happy that I've had them done to please me and only me. Girls who get STARS AND stupid meaningless tats to be "cool' are the ones you should "study"... generally those girls end up in strip clubs or in strangers cars giving 5$ you know what lol

Tats are not just wrong for women. Men who want women should concider a clean slate.

If you get even one tattoo you may as well say goodbye to your femininity and class.
Not to mention they look gross when you get old.
