Sixteen-year-old Momsen, who played rebellious Jenny Humphries on the hit CW series, was spotted rocking out at the Warped Tour in Hartford, CT, on July 11 in a pale, see-through studded corset that revealed a black bra and panties underneath; thigh-highs with garters; and -- wait for it -- 6-inch Lucite 'stripper' heels.
The kicker: The platforms of her shocking shoes read "TIPS," with a little slot for inserting cash.
Momsen performed with her band The Pretty Reckless, a term that might describe her style of dress. But, as the young star told Entertainment Weekly, "I don't really like pants, man. I like tights. I'm not really a pants person... I choose not to wear pants."
What she does choose to wear are bustiers, baby-doll dresses, and other unmentionables that barely conceal her body. Add to that her messy platinum hair and heavy makeup, and it's no surprise that she's often compared to a young Courtney Love -- and even Love agrees that may not necessarily be a good thing. "Why does Taylor Whatsit deeply disturb me?" she tweeted last year.
She's not alone. Momsen, who describes her look as "grunge meets Chanel," is constantly criticized for her age-inappropriate outfits, but she told the Times Online earlier this year that she could care less.
"My favorite blogs are where you get the mothers saying, 'She's the worst influence on my daughter, I would never let my daughter dress like that,' or 'This girl's such a whore, she's a slut.' And I'm like, you're a mother! And I'm 16."
To be fair, Momsen says her closet does include a healthy dose of designer names, including Balmain, Alexander Wang, and YSL, but regardless of whether she's dressing Gucci or hoochie, she's not paying it any mind.
"Online, there's a thousand people who are just so mean," she told the Times. "There are so many negative comments about just the pettiest things that you can't even read it."
